Maricstair looks like a stranger to me--and attractive stranger, but a stranger nonetheless. Are there changes besides the hair, or does the hairstyle really make that much difference? I find him unrecognizable.

Just hair and added stubble, no facial tweaks at all.

I know asking this is kind of a stretch, but....

Hundreds of pages back someone (kmeade maybe?) posted a incredibly schmexy pic of Alistair looking all angry and hot.  It was kind of blue in tone, I think during the sacred ashes quest.    I went through about 100 pages yesterday looking for it, and banged my head agianst the desk when I realsized there were 600 more to go through.

Does anyone have any idea what pic I'm talking about?

Rather than angry I think he's just being snarky.  I think this is where he brings up the concept of the 'Self replenishing' urn.

Where Alistair got "the brow o' doom" for his pissed off moments. I love this scene, where Teagan rips that stupid cow Isolde a new one...

In game or posting here? In game you press printscreen key on a PC keyboard.  If on PS3 or XBox I have no idea.

To post here yoiu have to find a place that hosts images (like photobucket) and then post the url link to the picture in your forum posts.

(OH and youi have to post it like this)

link to picture without the spaces between the URL and the brackets.

and it should show up as a piccie.

well hell this just refuses to cooperate with me.  You need to type [ img ] and [ /img ] on the sides of the URL without any spaces in there between brackets, URL and the command img and /img

Weird. You wouldn't think that would make so much difference.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The victory kiss was just clicking on Alistair and asking him to kiss you. He'll ask about your audience. The only downside is Oghren being pervy as he watches. =p

Oh, right.  And Alistair's response to Oghren watching is, naturally, "A little creeepy, that."

OK I give up... what Alistair mod is this...  I like him with the longish hairPosted Image

I'm guessing someone answered you already, but that is the thread starter's Maricstair mod.  Subject of much controversy in these parts but too addictive to drop, for me anyway.  Posted Image

I have never had a hardened Alistair declare himself king at the Landsmeet ever. I don't think he can when you're a HNF. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. He will not ask you to marry him if you don't put yourself on the throne beside him.

The only time this happened to me was when HNF tried to spare Loghain.  Even though she backed down later, agreeing with Riordan causes switches to flip in Alistair's brain that lead to trouble.  Posted Image  Reload!

Theoretically.

It's been buggy as all hell for me since patch 1.02...I generally have to start the game, then alt-tab out and go open the Dragon Age screenshots > User folder on my desktop in order to actually have my pics save. And it has to be in that order; if I crash or quit for a bit, leaving the screenshots folder open and just restarting doesn't work. I have to close the folder, restart, then reopen the folder again. I have no idea why.

I think a proposal would undermine some of the bittersweetness of an Alistair romance. Because of his position in life, he's probably never thought much about marrying anyone. He spent his teen years as a templar, which meant he had no hope of marriage, and then as a Grey Warden he knows that a) his chances of procreating are slim and B) his lifespan is going to be shortened and c) he's probably going to die in battle anyway. And that's not even touching on the whole king thing, which further shrinks his options.

I agree.  This is what made the Morrigan breakup so wrenching for my PC, too.  Your future is covered over with a shadow and that's not a shadow that a good man is going to want to bring a woman into, not lightly.  Which is also why Alistair takes a breakup so hard, I think.  He let himself hope that it could happen and that he could have at least a little happiness, so if it's gone, it really breaks him.

To get Alistair with the hair, you'll need to download Maricstair.

It looks you're for some reason getting a scene intended for the dwarves (judging by how low Alistair is placed, that's what's causing the .... boldness issue). It may be a conflict with another mod or something like that?

It might be. Like I said before, it only happens with one particular kiss in cmessaz's mod and it's not every time. I'll poke around my override folder tonight and see if I can't find something that might be causing it.

I asked this upthread, but which version are you using?  I'm using the one that includes ZDF without BSC Medium and I didn't notice any glitches on HNF.  But more testing could be arranged.  Posted Image

I can't believe how different Alistair looks with a bit more stuble and a different hair, if he ever needed a disguise like superman/clark kent, that would be it Posted Image

Maricstair is good looking but he looks too serious for me Posted Image  I prefer the cheeky young man look, though when my warden and Alistair are much more mature she'll probaly prefer that Maricstair look Posted Image

I have the version with BSC medium, which is where the glitchy kiss can happen. As cmessaz pointed out, it kinda fits for that scene.Posted Image

I asked this somewhere else but I don't think anyone answered.  Why is it you think the look is particularly suited to elves?  Not that I disagree, but I think my HNF in particular would go for a more kingly look.  Not that she herself doesn't need more grown-up, less tomboyish hair as consort.  That's one thing I'll do if I replay her game, especially with Maricstair going.

In fact, that does give me incentive to replay her game.

Ha!  True.  It's not like you aren't giving the camp a peep show, anyway, with those open tents.

I agree it makes him look older and more kingly, that's part of the appeal for me.  Not that I don't like vanilla Alistair- I do.  And I agree that for where he is in the game, the boyband hair suits his character.  It just adds replay value to me to see him as he might be in a few years, and to see those aspects of his character which are there in the rough.  I don't think of it as "much" more mature, though.  That may be because I'm 38 myself.  Posted Image

I also think some of the other mods like Improved Atmosphere and even some of the tint changes modify his look more, since his eye color looks different etc.  If you're playing the game with that going, though, I'm sure he's just Alistair.

for me its definitely the Maric/Fiona/Alistair connection (extended to all elves).  I prefer Maricstair on elf runs (though usually he shows up after or during the second treaty) as I usually start with Vanilla or Yuki-stair. Being out on the road, no good way to get hair cut/shaves on a regular basis, just lends itself to the look.  And by the second treaty my PC and Alistair have at least started flirting with each other.
Plus I went to books a million tuesday and ordered The Calling.  It will be here in 7-10 working days *YAY!*  Totally NOT getting the Loghain love fest that is The Stolen Throne Posted Image  but looking forward to reading the Calling.

Would you guys check this out and tell me if you see the problem
This person is complaining about my mod making a black line around the character. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking maybe the haircolor.
