This person is complaining about my mod making a black line around the character. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking maybe the haircolor.

Black liine where? on her shoulder?

Unless they're referring to Alistair's necklace showing up as a black line? That's the only thing I can possibly see in that screenshot...

for me its definitely the Maric/Fiona/Alistair connection (extended to all elves).  I prefer Maricstair on elf runs (though usually he shows up after or during the second treaty) as I usually start with Vanilla or Yuki-stair. Being out on the road, no good way to get hair cut/shaves on a regular basis, just lends itself to the look.  And by the second treaty my PC and Alistair have at least started flirting with each other.
Plus I went to books a million tuesday and ordered The Calling.  It will be here in 7-10 working days *YAY!*  Totally NOT getting the Loghain love fest that is The Stolen Throne Posted Image  but looking forward to reading the Calling.

Ohh, you haven't read The Calling yet?  It's pretty good, and does add background to the game lore.  I should re-read it.  I read it kind of quickly the first time.  But I've got so much other stuff to read, I just end up skimming bits.

I also don't get why people say TST changed their view of Loghain.  To me he is just what you see in the game.  In the game you can see that he's caught in something even he doesn't understand- his depression in the Denerim cutscenes makes this clear.  So maybe people who missed that and took him for a simple villain, or else didn't know about the scumminess of the Orlesians, got a surprise in TST.

Would your mod cause that? It doesn't change anything in tmp's cutscenes, does it?

Yea Hardened Al will grab the throne if its not a HNF (or HNM) Warden.  Arranging marriages I think tends to hiccoup that option (such as putting forth Alistair/Anora marriage) though if he kills Loghain Anora won't marry him.  Can't say I blame her for that one.  Everyone has a line they won't cross and Anora won't marry someone who murdered her father.

He grabs it even if you are HNF, that did come as a shock as it was the first time I had hardened him.

Were you at love with him? I've never had him make himself king if he was hardened and in love with my HNF, and I have played through the Landsmeet a lot.

You never EVER let Alistair kill Loghain if you want a choice after that point...lol he will indeed take the crown.

I see it on her right shoulder and around one of her fingers and around most of her hair as well.  Alistair seems uneffected.  Quoting the picture seems to have made the picture bigger and the lines obvious...

I don't think this is my mod honestly. I don't see how my mod would affect this like Surely Forth said.

I guess that must be what they mean.  In the vanilla scene, you don't see Alistair from the back, right?  So probably the illusion of the amulet chain is less apparent here than what someone who's only seen vanilla is used to.

No I think I see what she means, it's around the body like an aura, but I don't think my mod would have anything to do with this.

I usually have him duel Loghain even on my HNF but then it cuts to Eamon asking her to make a choice on Alistair/Anora ruling (if its the HNF or a HMN who arranged the wedding prior).  If I don't really care one way or the other I usually have him duel so I avoid the whole annoying Riordan BS.  If i want to control the situation, my PC does the dueling and I just esc through the crapola Riordan offer.

I should point out at this time that none of my PCs by the Landsmeet have NOT been in love with Alistair so the HNF is asked (as she has the "Love Flag" on her)

I think this one get chalked up as a clash with the bright background with the white hair. Maybe sometime I'll try morphing one of my characters to have white hair and give it a shot.

Many custom hair mods will have transparent pixels around them, the morrigan style does it the most, I've learned to ignore it. And with a lighter color it just may stand out more.

yea I think its a clipping issue, like when you try to post an image over another image and it becomes obvious its not a part of the original picture. Plus it seems like a pretty small thing to whine about considering the scene happens so fast and is she REALLY inspecting the picture with a magnifying glass to see this? Cause I really don't.

It still should go to the "Warden chooses" cutscene if you've either arranged the marriage to Anora or (per SurelyForth I believe) it's a HNF character at Love with Alistair.  I know for a fact that on DEF, Alistair dueled and killed Loghain and DEF still got to choose, because she had Posted Image set up the Anora marriage.

I think even the time where my HNF tried to spare Loghain and he seized the throne, it might have been my terrible bad "break up for the kingdom then change her mind" run, so they were at Friendly rather than Love.

I have never had a hardened Alistair declare himself king at the Landsmeet ever. I don't think he can when you're a HNF. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. He will not ask you to marry him if you don't put yourself on the throne beside him.

The only time this happened to me was when HNF tried to spare Loghain.  Even though she backed down later, agreeing with Riordan causes switches to flip in Alistair's brain that lead to trouble.  Posted Image  Reload!

Hmmm.  I shall have to try that.  I thought I did it before and didn't have him grab the throne.  Maybe agreeing with Riordan initally makes him fall out of lvoe with you.  XD

PS:  Hooray for unlocked computers in the computer lab at school.  Now just to make sure no childrens walk in when innappropriate screenies are displayed.  ^_^

I have personally witnessed Alistair make himself king hardened and we were not in love. I had to reload. I was shocked because with my other HNF and mage, he didn't do that. Even my less than perfect strategy guide says that if you are going political marriage, to fight the deul yourself if he is hardened.

I agree it makes him look older and more kingly, that's part of the appeal for me.  Not that I don't like vanilla Alistair- I do.  And I agree that for where he is in the game, the boyband hair suits his character.  It just adds replay value to me to see him as he might be in a few years, and to see those aspects of his character which are there in the rough.  I don't think of it as "much" more mature, though.  That may be because I'm 38 myself.  Posted Image

I also think some of the other mods like Improved Atmosphere and even some of the tint changes modify his look more, since his eye color looks different etc.  If you're playing the game with that going, though, I'm sure he's just Alistair.

I only said much more mature because isn't the warden, especially the HNF, very, very young?  Around 16 kinda age?  I was thinking it would suit him in his mid 30s Posted Image

OMG no, I suppose you can play it that way but esp the HNF isn't a 16 year old. She's early 20s.  I figure around 21-23 young but old enough for such a huge responsiblity as running the castle (and yes I know kids matured faster in the middle ages but this is Ferelden not medieval England where the life span seems a bit more than say 40)

The HNF can really be any age you want them to be, within reason.  I put Fergus at like 28 in my games, and my HNF at 18.  She was a...surprise.  It lets Fergus be old enough to be married with a 6/7 year old and my character young enough for the RP purposes.  Realistically, anything up to 22/23 seems reasonable.  My HNM are a bit older.  20/21-ish.  Again, pure RP.  I just like keeing Fergus under 30 b/c I don't think Bryce and Eleanor were having babies while fighting the Orlesians.

That may be the difference. I always duel, because I hate controlling Alistair (or anyone but my own pc). It's when I tell him HE should be the one to execute Loghain, he'll grab the crown.

lus, in the related time period, marriages could and did happen very very young.

I'll be getting the Ser Gilmore mod for my next HN runthrough and if Alistair wants to grab that throne baby! I'll let him do it.  I've been waiting from day one to be able to romance the redhead and its gonna take removing IA to do it but by the Maker I WILL do it!  However since Fergus is alive, I think my PC will stay in Denerim and help her good buddy Alistair out with that whole ruling thing (chancellor).

They could happen young, though historically, people did not get married nearly as young as people have this notion. Especially for guys. But I figure Fergus got married around 20-ish, for whatever reason. I put it down to him falling madly in love and not an arranged marriage, and it's my story so I can do what I want. ^_^ Oriana pops out a kid and all is well in Castle Cousland.

As I have said a few times, if Alistair kills Loghain and is hardened, IF he is either in love (LOVE is the only status that counts here, NOT friendly or adore) with the HNF OR if he is engaged to Anora, the warden will STILL be able to choose the outcome.

Any other circumstance, Alistair will accept being king.

Edit: fixed my flags

Second edit: I will spare the list this morning of the top-of-the-page Alicorn, errr, image.
