Ah. When I don't harden Alistair he's never king. I always choose "Well, it won't be for lack of trying." or "It's also not necessary." when he's hardened/King. Never had him break up with any of my characters though. I didn't even know he could break up with your character then, at least when you're in love. Do you need the persuasion stuff when you're not at "Love"?

I don't know about the persuade check at adore. But what does he say if you say it isn't necessary to have an heir? I have never said that.

Okay, hardened Alistair does not say it. He skips right over the good king/gw/husband/father line and goes right to the next one. Could be an instance of it not firing correctly, then?

I don't like kids so I figured if the time came an heir could be selected  Selfish, I know. But he says:

Doesn't fire either way. I will look and see if it is as simple as my Redcliffe Alistair fix that I wish I could get up for people to use. If it is I will share the word on how to fix it.

I don't think so.  It should fire right after you say 'you'll be a good king' but it doesn't.

I really like those.  Saw them the other day and melted.  Alistair is my favorite, but I really like the skin contrast on the Zevran one.

I'd started it that way prior to my last playthrough most times, but I found it much more satisfying to wait and start it after reaching Redcliffe with the 'why didn't you tell me about your birthright' conversation. Another time, I think I started it when I gave Alistair the locket. He was very surprised when she told him he was special to her.
