The only minor quibble with the DN gauntlet is that the dialogue was really geared towards the player having killed Trian in origins. The player that gets framed is wondering what she has to be sorry for so you kinda have to go with the flow.

@lady -- I'm impressed you've hung in there this long. When you were losing interest in Alistair as a dwarf, I thought you'd run out of steam shortly after! =p

@sabreene -- yeah, that's why I just finally turned off the blood after three games. I don't mind it in the game, but when I see how much it mucks up the screenshots, ugh. I just keep it off to keep the images clean.

I'm still having trouble fixing the toolset. It's my fault, I know. Probably because I was running the game and the toolset at the same time? I only made one file and I deleted all my work (did a search to double check) and it's not resolving itself. I may try to reinstall toolset and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, my game runs just fine and my current DN looks fine (only wanted to fix her make up) so it's not omgmylifeisover or anything. =p

Anytime I try to run the toolset and the game at the same time, I get major problems. I'm not sure if that's what happened with you or not, but I never run them simultaneously any more. Will the toolset not open for you ? Or your save game won't open?

It's the first time I've ever REALLY felt like I wanted to actually go back and fix it! I'm completely blameless, I know it, I denied it when Behlen told me what trian was supposedly up to. Now I feel bad for telling him to kiss my ass:( My poor Aidan really did think her family was immune to the kinslaying, that they wouldn't do that to each other. (translation...I was in complete denial...lol)

I just got did the Gauntlet as a mage, the first that I allowed to help Jowan. I was pretty pissed when the Guardian was all "do you feel like you could have done more?" Like what, exactly? Thrown Jowan out a window? Torn off my robes and try to make out with Gregoir to create a distraction? Offered to be made tranquil in his place? Very frustrating, that Gauntlet.

The gauntlet as a mage really annoyed me. As a Noble (either human or dwarf) I felt bad or guilty, like I should've done something more (even though as a HN I knew I couldn't have). But as I mage, I'm like wtf, leave me alone. I was also a little pissed as a CE.

Edit: An extra action shot for Top of the Page!

That's a ranger pet, but it was my Dalish Warden's constant companion.  He had just done an Overwhelm on that SurelyForth HNF look-alike.  :wizard:

I don't remember exactly how it went, but my DNF didn't kill Trian and she still felt kicked in the gut.  Ah, I remember now- because Trian tells you, in so many words, that he's better off than you are because he's with the ancestors and you're just a casteless nobody.  So even if you died, you'd still be nothing.

No, they both work fine. I just get this message when I open a DAS file on any of my characters: "GFF file contains references.  Shared references will no longer be shared." It doesn't matter if I type in the MOR file in the morph line -- the new face morph no longer shows up in the game. I was making adjustments to the face, saving to local, and then alt tabbing and reloading a save in DAO to see the new changes in-game. That's probably where I went wrong as I didn't mess with any other setting.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to interpret that scene. If you want to see the differences in the dialogue between a player that killed Trian or was framed, check out the fifth post in the thread.

Hmm. Mine says the line about the "shared references will no longer be shared", but it still works for me. I'm going to try another test, see if anything happens.

Artemis and Apollo. Cats worthy of divine names.

So cute! I have 4 cats (how did that happen?! ;) All four of them are sleeping around me... they are always interested in the barking dog and kitten meows from the game :)

These two are brother and sister, and about 3x bigger now, but still, I love this picture:

and, of course, for the breath-stealing theme, we have Callie...(should be Kali, for this pic!)

i chose the one that said something like Behlen betrayed us both.  But the "you have my blessing" just about killed me. I had thought as I played the origin out, that Trian would have been the brother I had this hero worship for, even though he seemed to hate me, I'd sass back and be obnoxious, but he was still my favorite.

I did another couple testings, and even when it gives me the line about the "GFF file contains... no longer shared" the face switch will still work. Maybe it's something else?

Ooh, piebald kitties are the greatest!

Here's Orange Thing (aka William the Bloody, aka Spike) who is almost always this haphazard:

And Grey Thing (aka Scout) who is almost never this out in the open (so this picture is from almost 5 years ago when I lived with four cats and all of our furniture was from Goodwill and didn't matter):

Maybe just run thru the steps again? I know there are different ways to go about it.

Maybe make sure it's being saved as a .mor file, and it's in an override file (mine actually goes in the ...\\AddIns\\DEMO\\core\\override\\toolsetexport file, just because that's where the toolset automatically saves it when i "post to local". I usually save just as my character name (& iteration, i.e., sharra4), and when I post to local, it automatically saves it as hf_sharra4.mor (or df_, ef_, etc). I copy that name from the file, and then when I open up my saved game and go to the savegame appearance, I just do a "paste value" into the appearance morph name.

Another, but longer, way to go about it is to create a character as a mop file, put it in your presets, make a new game with that character, save it, and then open up that save file and your real game save file, and copy-paste value into the binary savegame_player_morph.

Hopefully things will work out for you. If it's your character that's your avatar, she's already so pretty!! :D

Ok, I need to play another DNF, i keep feeling like I didn't do a thorough enough job of exploring my options in the Paragon of Her kind quest. OR I need to backtrack, and redo it, the circle, and the urn. I'm so torn, and I don't know why it's easier to think of starting a new one than just going backwards.

Heh, backtracking feels like you're doing twice as much work for the same result when a fresh start means you're cutting loose the baggage and all that was really just practice and now the REAL STORY BEGINS ...

I actually restarted my first DN when I realized how much stuff I missed.

Edit: Aww, thanks sabreene! I actually realized there was nothing wrong with my noble. Now it's just the principle of getting the toolkit to work! I like the idea of multiple dwarf face morphs for messing around in the Pearl mods so I'm not quite wh0ring it out with my actual girls. =p

Edit 2: top of page la la
