I always give my Couslands green eyes, since I saw Eleanor has them. And I why do green eyes = Mary Sue? I have green eyes and they've never earned me anything special.

Haha, my mom is a bit dramatic, I think. I think she looks fine for a ~young elven lady~ xD She just has strange features.

she does look a little young in that pic :P but then again she is by a kinda tall guy

Haha, she does but I think most elves tend to look young next to humans. The height difference is a bit weird for me.

I have an integrated Mary Sue detector.
On a scale from 0 (cool!) to 10 (Mary Sue) Brand is a ... 1, AWMT's Elinora hits 5 sometimes.

Edit: Please don't hit me?

Edit: 2: How comes that I haven't found a fic from errant_knight yet?

she's Alistair loli!

I never understood why they made elves smaller then humans; by the way I describe my characters both Seinna Amell and Hazel Cousland should be smaller then my Naomi Tabris ><

I think violet is definitely one of the indicator for Mary-Sue-ness. Being a princess with special powers others don't have and one of the last of a legendary order would also count but that's hardly our fault, is it?

oh my gosh did you just really say that! :D if I said I thought Twilight when I read AWMT a couple of times would I get killed? I like the story and ideal but sometimes I get a little bored with it, it lacks personality I think at times

Hey can I give you the link to my childhood dragon age fanfiction and you can give my child Cousland a decent rating?

I also thought having multi hair colors was a Mary-Sue quality and having every male character fall in love with you (even the gay guys) also a Mary-Sue quality.
aww snap I gave my Dalish Elf Neryan purple eyes and I used that from a characters veiwpoint how that oldly makes him handsome and stand out even more..

Well, I did it.  Alistair killed the archdemon.  :crying:  That emoticon is literal since I went through a small stack of tissues.

The dumb thing is that it feels like the right ending for Fiona 2.0.  She didn't want any part of Morrigan's ritual.  She had a big plan all worked out:  It was too risky to leave Alistair behind in case he was the last Grey Warden standing and the archdemon might get away or transfer to another darkspawn.  Plan A was to stick close to Riordan and spirit-heal him like crazy until he could take the final blow.  That was a good plan, but Riordan messed it up.  Plan B, if they both survived that long, was to Force Field Alistair at the decisive moment and take the final blow herself.  Naturally, Alistair interfered.  I still think that's what she would have done if the game had allowed such a thing.

cmessaz:  The kiss triggered with "No, but I won't let you die either, Alistair."  I will play around with other options later, if I can make myself watch it again.  The animation was a little off, though.  As you can see, she's kissing his nose.  I didn't really care in the game, of course, since I was all weepy.

Considering Eleanor has green eyes, the Wiki says couslands have green eyes, then I really don't see any big issue with a cousland in a fic having green eyes. As long as they aren't overly explained every time they are mentioned. I think I did that once, when Kasha met Alistair, something like "green, so very green and...empty" . And later I think I mentioned catlike, but thats was about it.

Because writers who want to make their characters extra, extra special invariably give them unusual eyecolors, along with astonishing beauty, a perfect singing voice, dainty feet, and an ability to do virtually everything better than everyone else. It's not the only hallmark of a Mary Sue, but it's a frequent and early indicatior. ;)

Sue-points only count in a fan fiction if they are points unavoidable by plot setup.

Because I'm still writing my first for this fandom. I'm only at chapter seven and have a ways to go.

You know, the best indicator for Mary-Sue-ness is being THE WARDEN. I hate a lot of fics just because the writers don't bother at all to tone down the awesomeness of the main character. Awesomeness has become an insult and an indicator for >5 on the scale.

She's so super speshal but everyone hates her, besides the perfect knight in shining armor who (and every other male she subsequently comes in contact with) falls in love with her.

Oh!
Hmmn not sure what to say on that my first base off of the Cousland look was the tradition dark burnette hair and green eyes, something Scottish or an Italian look, that's what I focused on with the Cousland look.

What about Aeducan's? I can never make a decent Aeducan look like she is actually related to her brothers!

If you stick to the darker blonde hair (like in my avatar) she'll look like Bhelen but the lighter blonde hair makes her look like Trian and if you pick blue eyes and a light complexion then that should work.

Yep, mine's in my avatar...but that's kind of small. So..here's my Aidan Aeducan

Posted Image

Oh, I like the alliteration.  Very nice. She looks a lot like Trian. Posted Image

Thanks:) she is my very first toolset made dwarf, I honestly didn't think I could do it. All I knew going in was I wanted light blonde hair and blue eyes. After Ostagar and Lothering though...she got a tan, a tat, and freckles...lol

If they weren't total Mary Sues, Ferelden would probably be doomed. Or, I suppose, we'll see what happens when the new DLC omes out...

I know if any of my characters looked like me (which in and of itself gains you Sue points) they'd rack up a few points on the 'unusual appearance' scale although not as many as if they were colors not found in nature. Posted Image
