Exactly.  I always RP it as you are the first real friend he's ever had.  And again, romanced or not, he's found someone willing to stick up for and by him and he doesn't want to let that go.  Traveling for a little while maybe, but not to leave your PC behind forever.

That explanation actually makes me want to talk to him about getting him to +30 approval lol. Maybe I will this time around.

He's so boring! At least with Leliana, I know her romance ques and can avoid them. Zevran always ninja romances me, so I have to pay attention to his boring dialogue to avoid choosing the romance options. He's cool and all but

Yes, if your approval with him is under 30. he will turn on you when Talesin shows up.

Yup, when you get confronted by Telisan(Sp?). It's surprisingly easy to get betrayed by Zevran if you don't pay attention.

I actually turned Zevran down when he was suggesting we could be more then friends

"Mode spoiler." he called me and now since I am trying to be friends with him I'm at +78 and I get "What say you?"

You guys have missed out.  Zevran makes as good a friend as lover.

You know the bad part about this ending?  Well, one of them.  My PC first talked to Alistair about the ritual before backing down, and he sounds so relieved when you tell him you've changed your mind.  It's jarring, actually.  You would think he would at least be concerned that it might be one of your last nights together, ritual or not.



 I'll never be able to look at Esra's screenshots the same way again.



On a different note, I've heard the theory that the little dog standing near Sten and your mabari at post-coronation could be Morrigan.  And you know, it does look a lot like the dog that Morrigan shape-shifts into when she leaves.

I had him not fight with me once, but never betray me. And boring? Sheesh. My PCs always find his backstory fascinating, and they feel so, so, so sad for him.

I had no idea what I was doing my first playthrough. I was PISSED! I didn't talk to Zev for at least 2 playthroughs, just tossed him a couple of gifts so he wouldn't betray me.

I've only heard his backstory once, when I was romancing him () but that might be why I don't like talking to him. I never get to his good dialogue (without sleeping with him anyway). This time around I will take him everywhere and give him as many gifts as I can to see apparently very nuaced story.

A bit. Like he is more relieved to be dying than living with the consequences of something unknown.
Really does have a bit of the martyr complex. Either that, or he has an unrealistic amount of faith in Riordan's ability to be the one to land the killing blow.

I agree those not trying to be Zev's friend are missing out. I used to not like him much, but now I think he is awesome (ridiculously so). He is in fact very smart, as you would find out if you take him along with you.

@ Addai. Yea the theory is highly plausible. I wonder how she managed to inflitrate the Imperial Court of Orlais. That shows she is politically savvy. A huge turn on...

For some reason I can't get his approval above 40 without sleeping with him. I kinda gave up after a while when the only things I had left to say to him was inviting him into my tent. I'll track down his gifts this time around though.

Yeah, Zevran makes a great friend.  On charcters that romance Alistair, Zev is their best friend.

And Alistair is relieved, I think partially b/c it might not seem real to him yet.  It's my RP reason for why he seems so happy about it.

Now I always befriend him. I will romance him my next playthrough, but for some reason my stomach churns just thinking about it. Serissia's morph made it a bit more tolerable though.
