I had no idea what I was doing my first playthrough. I was PISSED! I didn't talk to Zev for at least 2 playthroughs, just tossed him a couple of gifts so he wouldn't betray me.

My first play through everyone ninja romanced me since I flirted with them all.  Then I got the angry jealous conversation and I was like wtf is this?

And Alistair is relieved, I think partially b/c it might not seem real to him yet.  It's my RP reason for why he seems so happy about it.

Well, he does have a large capacity to live in denial, as he did for a long time with the king bit.

I think I am going to play my Dalish shapeshifter next.  Was going to replay HNF's game but I think I'll stick with the elves.  And Alistair is going to live to be a fat, belching, beer-swilling middle-aged monarch in this game, dammitall.

I don't think it's even just your friends though. That he only gets a throwaway line from Anora and Wynne and that's it. Even if he's not the PC's lover, he should at least get more recognition than that. In this case the PC didn't kill the Archdemon, but they're treating them like the savior without giving much acknowledgement to the one who actually died.

I know, I'm referring to the part about not wanting to see the so called friends again. As far as anyone else is concerned, the one time I did it, I did it exactly as I would in my pc's shoes. The man I love just died a horrible death. I'm going to stop and thank my friends for coming, and get the hell outta there as fast as humanly possible, and Zev is going with me.

Now I always befriend him. I will romance him my next playthrough, but for some reason my stomach churns just thinking about it. Serissia's morph made it a bit more tolerable though.

At least sleep with Ali first. I can't romance Zev as a girl because I hate the thought of Ali losing his virginity to a woman he thoroughly loathes.

@ Addai. Yea the theory is highly plausible. I wonder how she managed to inflitrate the Imperial Court of Orlais. That shows she is politically savvy. A huge turn on...

And given how at the beginning she's all 'the logical thing to do is going to kill the hero general' she must have learned a lot of that political savvy during the journey...

That's only if you're doing Anora/Alistair ending.  If he's solo ruler he might meet a nice noble woman and actually fall in love.

I can't imagine Morrigan being in Orlais. She goes on about how she can't stand all the touching in society and she goes to the country modeled after France? Aka, the birthplace of the une bise?

Yes, I do that on PCs that romance Zevran, as well.  Even if you break his heart later, at least he got his first time with his supportive fellow Warden rather than with the swamp witch, in a shady magical ritual, with his own and others' deaths on the line.  I really don't know how he even gets it up.

I mean that if you do the Dark Promise to keep you both alive then he will have to sleep with Morrigan.

He also doesn't know he's in a video game, so he probably has some hope that Riordan won't be a Damned Fool and get himself killed before the archdemon is slain.

I like to think it's me  (my canon PCs did the DR though, so no imperial court).

Morrigan does show some political savviness actually. For instance in my Dain playthrough, Morrigan seemingly understood exactly what Dain wanted to do. She said to Zevran that whoever puts "that fool" Alistair on the throne will require his services, which is what Dain is planing. I think  Dain got turned on a bit, but remembered that she isn't a dwarf.

Ah, yeah... I suppose so.  I have trouble thinking of men as virgins since it's not the same for them.

yeah the cover is a bit annoying an corny
but I listening to the music kinda helps if writing or drawing something with an Alistair it in, I think the fluff music helps

I would rather want an awesome cover like this one for it

I figure that since he doesn't trust Morrigan even as far as he can throw her, he also doesn't have a whole lot of faith in the ritual actually working.

So the fact that you might both die soon is just as true to him as it was earlier in the evening, and now he also doesn't have to touch Morrigan on the off chance that she might be telling the truth and not playing a colossal joke on him.

I think violet is definitely one of the indicator for Mary-Sue-ness. Being a princess with special powers others don't have and one of the last of a legendary order would also count but that's hardly our fault, is it?

You know, the best indicator for Mary-Sue-ness is being THE WARDEN. I hate a lot of fics just because the writers don't bother at all to tone down the awesomeness of the main character. Awesomeness has become an insult and an indicator for >5 on the scale.

Says the DA fanfic police! :police:

Actually I don't get it. People who write their characters like the best thing ever/ without a flaw, I mean. Where the heck is the fun in that? It's booooring.-_-

I like my character(s) to be quirky, flawed & stumbling, in a figuratively way. Much more fun like that. :wizard:

Yeah, I think a perfect MC would be a one-way ticket to dullsville, as a writer (I know it is as a reader).
