It is a minor script change, but I think it's value is alot more than that. And I don't see how I'm ''trolling'', I am serious about my question and I don't really feel like going through 800 pages of people discussing a smile.

If you were actually looking for a serious answer, it's better not to come to a self-titled "gush" thread and call the subject of said gush annoying and ugly with a stupid haircut, and basically worthless unless he has a changed face and personality.

That said, the reason I love Alistair is rather undefined, sort of the reason why you like chocolate or the color blue. It makes you feel a certain way. Not to bring all characterization down to a choice of ice cream flavor, because it's much more complicated than that, but one person's vanilla is another's mint chocolate chip. The reasons I think he's cute and adorable may be the same reaons someone else finds him annoying.

The kudos for that go to the writers & developers of the game -- they've made characters similar to real people. Sometimes you like them, sometimes they bug the hell out of you

Alistair's. Lies by someone she loved (her brother) is what got her exiled, he's the first person she trusted since losing everything, including her first love.

That too depends on my character. My other HNF didn't find out until Eamon told her, and she wasn't thrilled. She broke it off with him, because that particular character is pretty broken up about her family and being in love with the future king scares her.

This is one reason I as a player like to go to Redcliffe first.  That way Alistair tells you pretty soon and it makes it better than waiting, say, like 6+ months.  Not every character does it, though.

Last night I finished my first mage playthrough (at 1 am...).  It was the first run where Alistair breaks up with my PC after I make him king, and I the first time I didn't do the DR.  I know this has been talked about ad nauseum, but this is the first time I experieced it, so here are my thoughts:

WTF!?!?!?

The breakup thing was fine, there was enough said to make it plausible.  And talking to him after is still super sad.  But no one in the party cares??  Stupid friends.

My real problem is the ending and the US.  Here's my recp:
"Well, here we are.  One of us is not making it out alive, it's been an honor.  And even though we are totally in love with each other, I'm not going to reference it at all, and instead, I'm going to look at that shiny thing over there and walk away.  Toodles!!"
...
"I'm taking the final blow!"
"No!  I'm taking the final blow!"
"I'm not giving you a choice! kthxbai!"
...
"Everyone's happy, you're a hero!"
"Wynne, I don't think Alistair is happy"
"Ah, yes him.  poor boy, that.  YAY!  You're a hero!!"
"Does anyone care that Alistair, the love of my live, is dead???"

Edit:  He does reference being in love with you depending on certain dialogue choices when he goes to sacrifice himself.  It is quite sad.

Can I just say again how glad I am to have discovered tmp's mods. I've got the elf female proportions fix, the underwear model fix, the Dalish armor fix, and tucked hair. Basically, my elf is 100% more feminine and normal-looking. She has hips, a waist, and no baseball-mitt hands. It makes me happy.

Just a note, but if you have the proportions fix installed it's probably better to uninstall the dalish armour fix since the proportions project includes a more up-to-date version of it. Simplest way to do that is to delete the files which have name start with ef_ from the dalish_armour-fix sub-folder in the override directory.

Like sabreene pointed out, the white roots thing is caused by lack of stubble .tnt file to match the hair colour tint. Specifically, if you apply a hair colour like say, t3_har_red then the game tries also to apply 'stubble' tint named t1_stb_red to the scalp/hair roots. A cheap way to deal with it could be probably making simple copy of black or other dark colour stubble tint file and renaming it to what the game loooks for. Side benefit would be a bit more realistic hair roots

Alternatively you can also take the t3_har_colour file you have applied to your character, make a copy of it and rename that copy to t1_stb_colour and it should work too.

(this is more convenient approach as it doesnt' require tweaking character morphs with Toolset, plus it will work for all future character who get this hair colour as well)

Mmm, in the talk with Rioradan, you said you would take the final blow, right? I didn't do that. Don't know if it affects it.

Now why the hell can't I find this conversation in the toolset?

Edit:  Apparently, Leliana doesn't like her thighs.  Looking through party banter, there are so many ones I haven't heard, even though I try to trigegr them all.  Does party order affect dialogue between them?  Or do some just not trigger.

Oh, wow.  You know one of those very first conversatiosn Alistair and Morrigan have.  "I have a wonder, Alistair, if you will indulge me."?  There is totally a dialogue tree for if he is hardened/parentage known that I never knew about.  Fascinating.

And I still can't find the conversation on top of fort drakon.

Just stick the knife in deeper.    I wasn't going to keep this stupid ending, but I had the sinking feeling when Morrigan was talking that it was just what my PC would do.  If I go back and change it now, it would feel false.  Call it Circle indoctrination kicking in, but she really wanted no part of Morrigan's "plan" and was confident in her ability to keep Riordan alive or, worst case scenario, force-field Alistair to keep him from doing it.

It's in alistair_main dialogue file, look under the events branch ( IF: ALISTAIR_EVENT_ON ) for one which starts with "Wait."
