is there something wrong with me or am i the ONLY one who sees these Awakenings people as different? The only thing Anders and Alistair have in common personality wise is snarkieness and general coloring. They could have easily made him dark haired but I suspect they didn't because you get one darkhaired companion in Nathaniel already.
And Velanna...has Morrigans' hairdo and is a mage. That's it. Morrigan was a survivalist/pragmatist as much as her limiited world view allows her. She would never go all kill crazy on merchant caravans.
I see Anders and Alistair as being similar for a few reasons beyond the snarky blond thing (and some of it has to do with parallel upbringings and the way they coped when forced into their respective servitude).
I almost feel like they're two versions of the same person- one who was given free reign over his life and maintained that, even though he was constantly having those reigns snatched from him, and the other who was never given any choice
ever and, as such, remained (outside of annoying the Chantry higher-ups) as passive in his life as he could possibly be until someone
else freed him. Anders is overly confident and self-serving but has a fairly strong compassionate streak and Alistair is duty-bound to a fault and compassionate, but he can be self-serving (and self-centered) at times. It's like an argument for nature v. nurture in my head.
The Morrigan/Velanna thing is a non-starter for me, though. Besides being prickly, they have nothing in common that I can see.
