All hail king Howe!
I can live with KoP liking Loghain, but how anyone can cheer Howe is...beyond me.
Tim friggin Curry. I rest my case.
No. Bad Uhl! Howe =/= Curry. Curry is way more awesome than Howe. He just lends Howe his voice:pinched:.

Howe didn't personally try to kill Alistair, nor was he the one to actively betray the king etc. You can charge him with the slaver deal probably and the Highever (which is somewhat murky given Couslands had rebelled against the Howes in the first place) but well, i can see why Alistair could be more inclined to spare this guy. They don't have personal point of conflict.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
It's weird when you also have no problem sparing the man that was his second and was behind most of his actions.

Sure. So Alistair's action is purely selfish and is not based on any real objective and impartial pragmatism and any sense of justice.
Still an idiot in my pov.
EDIT: Oh and those who set traps for Warden supporters in the Pearl are Howe's elites. Riordan was captured and tortured by Howe as well. Howe was a clear enemy of the Wardens.

It is more pragmatic choice than letting Loghain live, at least with Alistair. I mean, HE doesn't have any knowledge of Howe betraying anyone, whereas he has concrete proof of Loghain betraying his son-in-law and committing treason.
I wonder if he crowns Anora since the PC isn't around to harden him?

How is letting Loghain live pragmatic? Loghain would seem nuts to someone who has only encountered him a couple of times. He's going on about the Orlesians when they have a Blight and a civil war to deal with. Not to mention the betrayl thing I mentioned in my above post. How could Alistair trust him at his back when he killed his half-brother?

Then how is trusting the man that was behind most of Loghain's plans pragmatic?
How is trusting the man that had Riordan tortured, that had his elites hunt Warden supporters, held a pseudo mafia ring in Denerim, pragmatic?
Howe was a clear accomplice and even architect behind Loghain, so if Alsitair wants to look like he is sane, he owuldn't trust either, not trust one over the other. That shows he is just motivated by selfish unreasonable lust for revenge.

No I'll never buy it. It makes no sense. Golems, werewolves, and now Howe? It's simply impossible to have gotten to that point in the game and have every single action be undone, or done out of character for the one who's supposedly leading. The writers just negated every game decision without concern for whether is made any kind of sense or had any continuity. I'm not interested in giving them a vote to make more like this. But, wait...what do I mean, 'writers?' There's no writing. I should probably say 'fight designers.'

KoP, about your edit, what's to say that Howe doesn't lie and say that he believed Loghain and thought that the Wardens had betrayed the king? Torturing "the enemy" isn't exactly uncommon.
If he believes Howe over Eamon and others. then meeh.
Why didn't he believe that Loghain thought he was doing what was best for Ferelden? Of course he does not care what's best for Ferelden.

Alistair doesn't know Howe was behind Loghain's schemes. He only has the word of the would-be queen who is trying to steal the throne from him and Riordan.
Also, we don't even know if he encountered Howe. He may have decided not to save Anora and never even saw Howe.

Because he sees Loghain as the perpetrator behind the death of all but one of Ferelden's GW. Why should Loghain, Howe and Eamon be close to even footing with him?

I had my share of nerdrage. Somehow my attitude has changed from pissed to amused. I'm like Flemeth, don't mind me, I'm just insane.
Edit: ToP - Alistair is suspicious. I'm not going to crossdress as a darkspawn and kill you. Pinky swear!
