poor alistair, he was clearly devastated that our gw died that he went insane with greif and took comfort in the only person more crazy then he was feeling from losing his future li then got hung drawn and quartered by darkspawn but not before he saw all his companions slaughtered, i think he's more than suffered i mean c'mon he had to put up with leliana's maker this maker that, i'm a psycho get me outta here mumbo jumbo, give him a break please (begs on knees) you know your gonna forgive him when he lets you lick his lampost in winter :}
