omg might have to watch it on you tube coz i dont think i could play it with him hating my fhn

Then don't play as a fhn.
If you ever decide to do it and you combine it with a Zev romance playthrough, then go for a fem dwarf. The romance scene is too cute.

i've played as a dn but she was ali's mistress and chancellor and i couldn't get into the dc origin maybe try as a de they hate humans that might work i think

or a CE.  considering the near Rape thing, she may have issues with Alistair (humans) even more so than a DE.  I usually play my DE's pretty hate free.  The only one Rhia hated was Duncan.  I even like to imagine she bit that bastard.

my ce is usually mad at humans and starts off hating them but alistair always changes her opinion of humans where as my de she was forced to join the wardens kicking and screaming so i think maybe she might be more resentful

If you're afraid about falling for alistair again, just play a male character: problem solved.

I actually roleplayed a male character who fell in love with Alistair before meeting Zevran. Then he started falling in love with Zevran when Alistair turns him down.

It's because mages wear dresses, you don't notice that they're men :P

L Aeducan not swallowing Jory's BS

Damn everytime I look at my pics I wanna play my dwarf again and I sti;l haven't finished my AW yet.

Ok, how did I miss that one...grumbles. Time to dig in the toolset again. Took me all day yesterday to find that tat, this isn't promising! But oh is her story coming together nicely. I'm thinking she'll start with Alistair (can't let him lose the chantry cherry to morrigan)...figure out how to get him to make her choose between him and Zev.  Choose Zev, because they have way too much in common. He'll teach her the finer arts of assassination and lovemaking (snerks) .

I'll be hiding the layer of the zev tat (now that I know it's part of the brand tat and where to find it) until I finish the trial of crows, and Zev declares his affection. At which He does the inking himself...in my tent maybe...lol

The thought of miss whiney ass infuriates me. I can't wait to share what I did to her.

It has Addai. It has.

Well I just wandered over to the announcements forum and people are posting long walls of text analyzing every aspect of it; saying how epic and AWESOME it is, and stressing over not being able to pick up this or that Achievement.  Posted Image  That was surreal.

Really, I am not a gamer.  Really really am not.  It's clear to me now.  DAO was some kind of weird warp that sucked me in.

I AM a gamer. I have been one since Nintendo and super mario bros. However other than Oblivion (which doesn't seem as RPGish to me) this is the first RPG I've played. It is my favorite game. This DLC was good for battle and the beheading of some NPCs. They should have left the story alone all together and let us think sh*t up for ourselves, instead of the cluster f**k we got.

Edit: Still no Vanillastair

What'd I really love to know is exactly how much approval I actually need with companions for expansions/sequels. I know that approval mainly affects the epilogue cards and the farewell speeches, but being 100 with Oghren meant jack in Awakening. I don't know if King Alistair is tied in to approval points or just whether the romance flag is on and off and if Loghain was spared. I would recruit everyone and keep them all happy just to keep my options open so they'd be available again, but I weary of the constant camp talks.

Add the Cammen ball-slap dance, and you have utter torment. But he still deserves his impending execution.

I know what you mean, I can't play as a male character either.
The moment I reach Ostagar I'm done with them.

Anyway, I'm not saying you should do an Alistair hate playthrough, but it might be the best way if you want to try out the Zevran romance. I love the Alistair romance, but for some reason I find Zev's romance much sweeter, I like the fact that you can always keep a relationship with him once the game is done. With Alistair only a fhn can stay in a true relationship with him (I'm sorry, but mistress isn't good enough for me).

Ramante, I am with you on the dislike for the mistress ending. Thank goodness other people agree. But that is a discussion we have long buried I hope.

Uhhh, or you can travel with him or stay Grey Wardens together. Marriage =/= "real" relationship

Yeah, I know. Sorry wasn't clear.

I assumed that everyone here always made Alistair king, so that's the situation I was talking about. ^^'

The only time I choose the mistress ending is when I play manipulative mages who want to be the true power behind the throne. They tend to be my favorite, I have a soft spot in my heart for them

King Alistair is just the romance flag I believe. What they seem to have done with his cameo is give YOU the option to react based on your prior relationship. A friendly version and a snarky one, and a neutral one.

Oh, mistress is going to be very good for my DN (although that term only really applies if Alistair's actually married to another woman) . Gonna put her brother in charge of Orzammar, gonna put her boyfriend in charge of Ferelden and be his chancellor. With her connections between Orzammar and Ferelden royalty, she is going to have SO MUCH POWERRRRRRR!!! Convince Alistair to send human troops to the Deep Roads and convince Bhelen to open Orzammar's doors for them -- MUWAHAHAAAAA. *cackles like a maniac*

I've only made Alistair king once and I don't have that game anymore. ;) I am actually going out of my way to make him king this time although I generally prefer Anora to rule alone. =p

Edit: No, wait, I have been marrying Alistair off to Anora so I can tell Morrigan to get bent when she brings up the dark ritual. I was thinking of sole king or sole queen, my bad. Not romancing him in those games though.

I have made him king once (marrying my Warden), all the other playthroughs are (going to be): Alistair marries Anora, recruting Loghain, refuse the DR and let Loghain kill himself.
