Marrying Anora and romancing Leliana= true torment. He's been punished enough.

omg might have to watch it on you tube coz i dont think i could play it with him hating my fhn
If you ever decide to do it and you combine it with a Zev romance playthrough, then go for a fem dwarf. The romance scene is too cute.
i've played as a dn but she was ali's mistress and chancellor and i couldn't get into the dc origin maybe try as a de they hate humans that might work i think
or a CE. considering the near Rape thing, she may have issues with Alistair (humans) even more so than a DE. I usually play my DE's pretty hate free. The only one Rhia hated was Duncan. I even like to imagine she bit that bastard.
my ce is usually mad at humans and starts off hating them but alistair always changes her opinion of humans where as my de she was forced to join the wardens kicking and screaming so i think maybe she might be more resentful

I AM a gamer. I have been one since Nintendo and super mario bros. However other than Oblivion (which doesn't seem as RPGish to me) this is the first RPG I've played. It is my favorite game. This DLC was good for battle and the beheading of some NPCs. They should have left the story alone all together and let us think sh*t up for ourselves, instead of the cluster f**k we got.Addai67 wrote...
Well I just wandered over to the announcements forum and people are posting long walls of text analyzing every aspect of it; saying how epic and AWESOME it is, and stressing over not being able to pick up this or that Achievement.cmessaz wrote...
It has Addai. It has. That was surreal.
Really, I am not a gamer. Really really am not. It's clear to me now. DAO was some kind of weird warp that sucked me in.
Edit: Still no Vanillastair
I know what you mean, I can't play as a male character either.shedevil3001 wrote...

The moment I reach Ostagar I'm done with them.
Anyway, I'm not saying you should do an Alistair hate playthrough, but it might be the best way if you want to try out the Zevran romance. I love the Alistair romance, but for some reason I find Zev's romance much sweeter, I like the fact that you can always keep a relationship with him once the game is done. With Alistair only a fhn can stay in a true relationship with him (I'm sorry, but mistress isn't good enough for me).
Yeah, I know. Sorry wasn't clear.Kryyptehk wrote...

Uhhh, or you can travel with him or stay Grey Wardens together. Marriage =/= "real" relationship

Ramante, I am with you on the dislike for the mistress ending. Thank goodness other people agree. But that is a discussion we have long buried I hope.

What'd I really love to know is exactly how much approval I actually need with companions for expansions/sequels. I know that approval mainly affects the epilogue cards and the farewell speeches, but being 100 with Oghren meant jack in Awakening. I don't know if King Alistair is tied in to approval points or just whether the romance flag is on and off and if Loghain was spared. I would recruit everyone and keep them all happy just to keep my options open so they'd be available again, but I weary of the constant camp talks.
You too , eh?Kryyptehk wrote...

The only time I choose the mistress ending is when I play manipulative mages who want to be the true power behind the throne. They tend to be my favorite, I have a soft spot in my heart for them

I have made him king once (marrying my Warden), all the other playthroughs are (going to be): Alistair marries Anora, recruting Loghain, refuse the DR and let Loghain kill himself.Gilsa wrote...

Edit: No, wait, I have been marrying Alistair off to Anora so I can tell Morrigan to get bent when she brings up the dark ritual. I was thinking of sole king or sole queen, my bad. Not romancing him in those games though.
