I've been indulging in Leli hate, but she's a victim too.  I wonder if the codex bothers Leliana fans, especially if you are used to thinking of her as a choice for your femWardens??  My husband likes her so he thought it was a good match. 

What really gets me is that they couldn't be bothered even to put in a single word about the romances in Awakening, other than an Alistair or Anora marriage, but they made a point to include that tidbit in the midst of their silly hack and slash DLC.  Should have just left it alone.

Wait, wait.  That was not Gaider commenting on the DLC.  It was snippets from a thread discussing someone's idiotic mod that allowed you to chop Morrigan's head off.

But it makes it all the more absurd to read about that when you realize that Bioware went on to make a whole DLC oriented to just that type of person.

I've only made Alistair king once and I don't have that game anymore. I am actually going out of my way to make him king this time although I generally prefer Anora to rule alone. =p

Edit: No, wait, I have been marrying Alistair off to Anora so I can tell Morrigan to get bent when she brings up the dark ritual. I was thinking of sole king or sole queen, my bad. Not romancing him in those games though.

I have made him king once (marrying my Warden), all the other playthroughs are (going to be): Alistair marries Anora, recruting Loghain, refuse the DR and let Loghain kill himself.

That's my canon character's ending. It sucked that Alistair walked out at Landsmeet like that, but I really felt it was the best gameplay choice. I am hoping that we'll be able to find drunk Alistair and attempt to recruit him back into the Grey Wardens. Loghain got his redemption, why not let Alistair have his? If he's gone forever, oh well, David Gaider did swear there would be a dwarf romance at some point. =p

I have to give KoP credit for this. He mentioned that in one of his dwarven games, he put his brother on the throne and did not harden Alistair (to keep him weak and more easily controlled) while putting him on the throne, too. He also had Alistair do the dark ritual because 1) he didn't trust Morrigan 2) wasn't about to put HIS seed in her and 3) it was another way to control Alistair (blackmail material) 4) whatever happened, it wouldn't be HIS fault because that wasn't HIS baby. He made himself Alistair's chancellor so he could plot with Bhelen for global domination. This was just so diabolical and sinister that I thought this was brilliant. I'm not playing my current DN as sinister, but definitely political. A mini-Anora of sorts!  (My first DN = pure commander, second DN = total politician. I don't really want a third DN -- my brain is hurting already.)

Lmao cmessaz, I think your venting your frustrations out on the wrong character's.  Er I should say you should be venting it out on the writers of DC lol.  Write a strongly worded letter and let your frustrations out on it, don't send it or post it, you'll feel so much better.  Alistair's just doing what the writers told him to do.
We all know that's not our Alistair, especially if you play the game n see where you lose influence or gain it with him, listen to his comments when it comes to doing what is right and wrong.  It's not his fault that someone took him completely out of context to the guy/game character that we've come to love, cherish and worship and trashed him lmao


I'm even more glad I never got the DLC, cause not playing it I don't have what if thoughts going through my mind.  Alistair still stay's Alistair
