I think it is because technically the subject of Alistair becoming the king doesn't arise until Arl Eamon forces you to go along with the whole "Let's go to Denerim, we have bastard prince of a wild card with us" thing. It wouldn't be really issue if there was simply third option for him along the lines of "I'm in love with a human out of all people" with simple romance check, like for the others.Gilsa wrote...
Ugh. This is getting kind of dumb. You can tell Gorim you're in love with Zevran, Morrigan, or Leliana just by the virture of turning on the romance, but for Alistair to even get a mention, all sorts of conditions have to be met. =p
You know, that actually would be a good thing to add. In fact, I like that better than the flags I changed. Hmmmm. Taking down that link...

I do not understand why fans of his character would rather he end up with Morrigan, who hates him and is diametrically opposed to his fundamental worldview, than with Leliana, who at least treats him well, respects him, and shares common morals.
It's not entirely or even mostly on a rational level, but if you picture the woman you can least stand, who also happens to be incredibly annoying, and then find out your boyfriend or husband had a thing for her once, it would set you back. The very idea is [alistair] creepy [/alistair].
I never saw him ending up with Morrigan, either. Just wish Bioware had left it all alone. I mean, what's the point? Have no story line at all and just throw that tidbit in? Probably to provoke just such a fangirl reaction as this. *sigh*
That would be cool. I should look into becoming fluent.Skadi_the_Evil_Elf wrote...

Yeah, but you didn't always make people who do like her listen to it for days accompanied by pictures. Same goes with Alistair. Can we not acknowledge that you don't like Leliana at al and move on?cmessaz wrote...
I've always hated Leliana. Not to mention the conflicts the story has anyway. Just makes no sense. i think the Morrigan manipulating him into a relationship with her to get her god baby is a more likely story. Would explain the stupid choices.errant_knight wrote...

I love that having three languages as similar as Swedish, Norwegian and Danish can make you seem more educated.
If that's the case, I speak Syrian, Lebanese (add in English and French words in every sentence), Iraqi, Egyptian, Khaliji (Gulf), and a bit of Maghrebi Arabic.

Edit: Sodding stone, people! I can barely keep up with this thread. Alistair gets treated the worst by his own fans, I swear. I am trying to help my dwarf noble shout her love from the mountaintops and you guys are posting artwork that Branka would be proud to hang on her walls.

It's easier than it looks.
Once you learn classical Arabic (extremily hard), you can understand regional and national dialects with a bit of practise (watching their TV).
Since I was raised in Syria, my accent is Syrian when I am speaking casual Arabic (specifically Shami / Damascus accent, famous or infamous for being tough lol). But I can understand and speak other regional dialects.
Alistair currently hates mine for not murdering his father-in-law.soignee wrote...

Let us do it together, Gilsa. My Aeducan loves her Alistair very much, even there's is far from perfect relationship.

Not hatred really, just feels pretty misplaced in the DA setting

Ok, I restored six conversations between Alistair and Zevran and put them back into the game. I'm uploading them to youtube but it's a long process (it will be a few more hours before all are uploaded). I can give links as they become available if anyone is interested. Here's the first -- Alistair asking Zevran for romance advice! If I just posted this when you click the link, I will promise that the quality WILL improve. Note the sexy dwarf!
Here's the next one! Alistair being protective!
Ok, I'm having technical difficulties with the third one in the series so I'll try reuploading it, but for now, here's the fourth. It's about Ferelden women and Alistair thinking Crow > Warden.
Well, this is all in good fun, so if people are annoyed I apologise. Others are expressing their opposite opinions so I just thought that I would do the same. I wasn't trying to make anyone mad.errant_knight wrote...
