I've read this in reviews so Im assuming its true, but what is the point of buying a new character (7 dollars worth) and you can't even talk to them like the other characters???

I feel the same thing happened with Zaeed, but at least he was free basically. Its pretty cheap, and I get the feeling this is just unfinished gameplay that got cut, and now were being sold the scraps of whatever failed to make it into the main game.

Seriously, Bring Down the Sky was $5, and THAT seemed overpriced for about 1 1/2 hours of gameplay. (consider that a regular playthough is around 30 hours at least, and that would make the game worth $100 dollars at this rate).

$7 is more than $5, and yet the amount of content is argueably the same as BDTS. All the main characters in teh game have 2 missions, and both Zaeed and Kasumi only have one, and you cant talk to them on top of that.

When we get a "New Character" in the future Bioware, I expect it to be a character we can go and talk to, not a robot that follows us around and shoots things and says stupid comments at random times.

She actually has a lot of dialogue.

But I agree, it would be better if she had a proper conversation wheel.

I agree with what you say, but in all honesty she does seem to have a decent amount of dialogue. But of course this is just my opinion.

WHY do we need a dialogue wheel? Don't you get it changes nothing? I'll give an example.

Zaeed: Shepard.

Shepard: (investigate)

Zaeed:Well there was this time when we...

Shepard: paragon: Thats horrible

neutral: I should go

renegade: suckers deserved it

Zaeed: paragon: don't judge me! You see they...

neutral: I should let you go. Talk more later Shepard

renegade: Hehe aint that right! So afterwards....

Resolution: It makes no difference! It just gives an illusion of choice but the information gained would still be the same just without a wheel its much faster and more simple.

I don't see what the big deal is. They could just as easily put the wheel in and you'd still get the same responses, with a bunch of "I don't wanna talk to you right now" crap.

My guess would be that people like the illusion of choice-- you may not get anything new/different, but it FEELS like it's new because of the Dialogue wheel, and so people like it...

Everything about a videogame is an illusion. You don't really think there's small little people on the other side of the monitor, do you? Bubblegum philosophy aside, conversation wheels/multiple choices make many of us, myself include, feel as if there is a dialogue. Having Shepard respond helps as well.

That said, Kasumi has a lot of interesting things to say, and she's a really fun character. Her loyalty mission is a not just a shooting gallery, either. Whether you think a couple hours of play and a new character is worth $7 is up to you.

Exactly. That's why it's better.

The wheel brings voice acting for Shephard too and nice camera angles. For me it is a big difference seeing the faces and hearing Shephard speaking. Further: Wheel dialogue comes with facial expressions and some gestures.

If it only matters to you what she says, a message from Kelly stating Kasumi's thoughts should suffice. What difference does it make if Kasumi talks at all?

Just imagine you prompted her. I like to imagine I'm slapping her in the face.

It's like all of the people complaining about Zaeed's "lack of dialogue" when he actually has around 9 minutes worth of dialogue down in his room (over 15 different stories that he tells).

Got me there, still "conversations" throughout the rest of the ship may as well be monologues.

Their may be a bug here though. Until I reinstalled and put Kasumi and all the others on Zaeed only repeated one story to me over and over. I thought that was all he had to say. With no conversation wheel I had no way to prompt a change and was stuck thinking he was a waste of space. Its much improved now, but I still prefer to have options. If Kasumi mentions the gild in navigation again....

lol indeed you had a bug. btw Zaeed has comments on the mission if you see him after a major plot mission or after recruiting someone (he comments on Jack and Horizon for example). He also has a lot to say if you take him with you.

As others have said though, whats the point of having a dialogue wheel at all if all you care about is the info at hand. The game has a fully voiced and animated main character because it's a big addition to immersion. It might be an "illusion" but it's a heck of a lot more enjoyable to talk back and forth with someone rather than just staring at them which prompts them to spew out a story to which you have no response...

It costs time and money that could be better spent elsewhere.

This time that statement isn't true. Someone a few weeks ago managed to add a dialogue wheel for Zaeed.
