Hi,
Im running a mac that meets the minimum requirements for the game. I downloaded and paid for the game via direct2drive. I have the mac version and after i click the icon it allows me to click play but never gets to the home screen. I can still see my desktop and my action bar and there is a little "loading" picture for dragon age. I have smcfancontrol but still cannot get the game to work. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Ishmaell

Hi Ishmael,
I have the exact same issue. The game worked fine for the first few times, but after that I can load the app that takes me to the "Play" "Deauthorise" (etc) options and when I click on "Play", the game just quits out back to the finder. I've reinstalled the game but the problem persists. Before I give up or try and wipe the hard drive and start again, I'm curious to know how you went with the problem?

All - got a great and quick reply from http://customersupport.ea.com/. Response follows. Preferences files were the problem. Uninstall, reinstall. No problems.
To manually uninstall Dragon Age: Origins from your Mac, follow the steps below:
First, make sure you are logged in with an account that has administrative privileges.
[Optional] Start the Dragon Age: Origins launcher.
[Optional] Click on De-Authorize. Your current machine will now be de-authorized from playing the game.
Note: If you do not de-authorize your computer before you uninstall, you will have to re-install Dragon Age: Origins in order to de-authorize your computer later.
Open a new Finder window and open the Applications folder from the left sidebar.
Find the Dragon Age folder and delete it.
Now, click on the Hard Drive icon on the left sidebar.
Open the folder with your Username on it.
Open the Library folder.
Open the Preferences folder.
Delete any files that reference Dragon Age.
Click on the Documents folder on the left sidebar.
Open the BioWare folder.
[Optional] Back up the Dragon Age folder if you wish to keep a back up of your saved games.
Delete the Dragon Age folder.
Dragon Age: Origins should now be completely removed from your system.

Tim,
If that happens again, you can first try just deleting the preferences WITHOUT uninstalling & reinstalling the whole game. If the preferences are missing, the application will just make new ones. They'll be the defaults, so if you changed the keyboard setup, etc...you'll need to do that again. I'm not sure where it sticks the authorization...I'd suspect that goes into the documents folder not the preferences.
I haven't done it for DragonAge yet, but I do it all the time when my Adobe products go wonky.
