Here is the question: "What happenes if my Shepard dies at the end of ME2?"

A typical answer/responce: "My Shepard died!  Will we be able to play him in ME3? If not here are my theories on a Shepardless ME3 ..."

I'm sorry, but it's not going to happen.  If Shepard dies in ME2, then you will have to import a totally new (and default) Shepard into ME3.  Here is a link describing what will happen in the case of said event.  LINK

Also, here is an excerpt from the linked article.

"Dead is dead. Mass Effect 3, as with the rest of the trilogy, is
Shepard’s story. If you have a dead Shepard at the end of Mass Effect 2,
that saved game won’t import into Mass Effect 3. You can play Mass
Effect 3 if you died in Mass Effect 2 of course, but you’ll have to
create a new Shepard. Harsh? Yes. But we wouldn’t be serious about the
concept of a suicide mission if you couldn’t die and your death didn’t
have serious consequences."
- Casey Hudson

And to the moderators of this forum, a plea to please sticky this post (or another like it). It would save a lot of people time, effort and grief.  I realize it takes only a minimal amount of research to gain this information, but still what will it hurt?

Thank you.

It'll be a clone! :P

I'm suprised at how many people don't pay attention to the info that pops up on the loading screen basically saying you can import your me2 save to me3 IF you survive. That obviously says that dead shepard can't be carried over.

Everybody knows that, ME is Shepard's story. No Shepard - no story.
