Slowpoke warning before I beginPosted Image.

I've just completed Liara's missions on my third playthrough, and this time, rather than asking her if she needs further help, I warned her not to become the thing she hates. And she throws my forced partnership with Cerberus at me! Even worse, when I decided to tell her I didn't want to help her murder someone, she puts me between a rock and a hard place by saying she'll just kill all five Obersever suspects!

I know there are plenty of topics expressing anger over what Liara has become, but I just really wanted to get this off my chest. I was annoyed enough the first two times; experimenting on my third playthrough has just made me angrier. The old Liara is dead, simple as.

She went through all that trouble to save Shepard from being the Shadow Broker's chess piece. Cut her some slack.

Yeah, not only did she save shep from becoming a collector science experiment, she also admits she regretted handing shep over to Cerberus. It's a lose/lose situation for her.

Do you want to give a character depth? Just make them evil!! That's so much more deep than anything good can ever be!!

Yeah. As annoying as Horizon may have been, I think Liara fans got the shortest end of the stick.

The characters are very important IMO.  The deeper the better IMO.  I don't think you have to make a character evil to have depth though.  Samara and Jack aren't evil, but they both have good depth IMO.

Depends how you see it. With Ashley/Kaidan, there is more indication of a break up. And they shout at you for being with Cerberus. Either way, and I hoping ME1 romance fans get their due in ME3.

Explain...I didn't read the comics. The impression I got from other people was that Liara saved Shepard.

I know Johnny. I was being sarcastic. That was just the route they took to make Liara's character more "in-depth". Instead they ruined it <_<

Somehow I don't really see the depth here. Maybe I'm blind in one eye... But yea... Makes no sense for her to act as she does. Especially considering how asari are supposed to be slower about stuff seeing how they live that long. They have never been portrayed as being prone to change so dramatically so quickly.

Liara had an agent with her. A drell by the name of Feron, he was a double agent for the Shadow Broker and Cerberus. Feron sacrifices himself at the end of the 4th comic so Liara can escape to deliver Shep's body to Cerberus. In essence, Liara couldn't have done it without him.

Haa haaa...right.

I guess it depends on how you define, 'work'.

Not entirely. She's already spouting out quotes from her mother, though. I fear they're going to do a Bastilla/Aribeth approach with her in ME3. She's so absorbed in her Shadow Broker hunt that she won't assist Shepard anymore.

Spoilers for Redemption ... obviously.

Really condensed version:
Feron was a shadow broker agent who thought giving Shepard to the collectors was a bad idea. He connected with TIM and got Cerberus help. Then he meets Liara. Feron has all the knowledge on the deal and ends up sacrificing himself to get Shepard and Liara out.. *cue events of ME2*
Liara was essentially a grunt, and not essential to the saviour of Shepard. Cerberus had a much bigger role than Liara.
