So in the Magi origin story, there is a storage cavern full of spiders you can clear out for Senior Enchanter Leorah. This same door is there when you return to the tower for the treaty, lockpicking doesn't work and it says it requires a key (the same one?). So my question is: what if you get the key from her, don't clear it out, and have someone else sign the form. Can you use that key on the same door when you return? Has anyone tried this? I have always wondered.

hmm I never tried that. I did get the key and got Sweeney to sign the paper last time I did it. Not sure if its available to enter when doing the circle quest but I hazard a guess not. There are some areas you can't go into in the Tower that were available in the Origin and of course vice versa (For instance you can't use one of the doors off the storeroom area where you find Owain).

That is true about some of the areas, like the basement, (although the door is used in another side-quest) but this door is still there when you're clearing out the tower and afterwards. You can right-click on it to try and open it, and it also shows up with TAB, but says it requires a key.

Sory, this is kind of random, but I was just wondering -- how are there caverns attached to the side of a tower? Does the door lead to some kind of winding stairwell down to the basement?

I'm not sure, never really thought about that. If I remember correctly it's on the 2nd floor, so there could be some stairs leading down or something. Technically the area is called "Infested Storerooms" but it looks like a cave.

If anyone is curious, I tried holding onto the key and it still wouldn't work on the door. Seems like it's permanently sealed off but yet can be targeted and clicked on.

Add that to the list of "DA questions not to ask" along with why Morrigan has a different accent from Flemeth and the physics behind Scattershot.
