Greetings,

I'm afraid I'm jumping on the DLC Troubled Bandwagon.

I will go through the cirucmstances and my attempts by the numbers.

When I purchased my copy the initial DLCs came down and installed no trouble. These included The Arch Cannon, Cereberus Armor, Collector Armor and Blood Dragon Armor. Shortly after The Zaeed Pack and Normandy Crash site came out.

The Normandy Crash site was fine but the Zaeed DLC did not work well. I quickly realized that a download had failed when, upon completion, the icon remained a neutral blank image rather than changing to the standard ME2 Icon. I downloaded the DLC several times over several days and finally got it working and I knew it would because the correct Icon appeared.

Firewalker was the same but much briefer.

Now we're up to Kasumi. Every attempt to download Kasumi results in the following.

1. The Icon is not correct.

2. Installation attempts result in the .exe attempting to confirm the contets before installing. This is where the failure kicks in. Confirmatio attempts stop at the high 90s percent mark. All download attempts have been the correct file size.
I have attempted multiple ways of downloading the file. They have included-

Multiple download attempts through Firefox.

Mutlipe download through a downloader program, in this case, Download Em' All.

I came here, read the various threads regarding this problem, found some other things to try.

Alternative EA Servers.

Downloading through different browsers.

The only two options left I've heard of or can think of are downloading on another machine and transferring to my own or finding an illigal copy. The former is impossible, I have only the one machine, the latter, unacceptable.

Has anyone any thoughts pertaining to other possible solutions to this problem?

I remain, as always,

Illegal copy? What's illegal copy anyway? I can download the file from any file sharing resource and install it without a problem. File was not tampered with. Also, I bought DLC and have rights to install or play it whenever I want. So what's the problem really? Grab a torrent, install and play.

Greetings,

Semantics.

As stated it is illegal not that I'm judging. Also as I said, I, personally, find that answer unacceptable.

Wait for EA to provide download mirrors then (which is unlikely). Also, please tell me what country you live in so I can investigate this. Never heard about something so ridiculous.

Greetings,

Which do you find ridiculous? The idea that illicit distribution is illegal or my personal choice of vocabulary?

Actual EA mirrors would be nice, but a link to an alternative EA server was posted in another thread. Tried that too.

No dice.

Solving publisher's problems by distributing intact file with no means to bypass copy protection or gaining any profit from said distribution being an illegal action of course.
P. S. You can contact EA support (chat or phone) as well. Maybe they will tell you something useful about this whole situation. They fixed my CD key issues pretty fast.

Greetings,

If I follow your response the profit is in the sale of the 'points'. Circumventing such requirements cuts into potential gross, if not actual profit.

Tried the live chat, that wasn't so hot for me but CD-Keys issues? You lucked out there. Fortunately such issues have never plagued myself...yet.

You still need to buy points and redeem them to get access to said DLC (tied to EA account after purchase). If you download and install it without paying for it, you get "Unauthorized DLC is installed" error.

I've paid for it (PC), Downloaded it, Installed it, go to load ME2 and I get the "Unauthorized DLC is installed". Please log into Cerberus Network with account used to purchase..."

When you start the game it automatically "logs into Cerberus Network". Now, it thinks that I've obtained it illegally? What gives? Is there someother way to "log" into Cerberus Network?

All other DLC has installed fine. Kasumi and the Appearance pack both are not "Authorizing". I hope a fix come soon. There's only so many playthroughs one can do before they want to play the extra content they paid for.

I downloaded it with different browsers and on different machines. I've tried even to download from a torrent, but the result is always the same: it starts with the "verifying installer" and then nothing happens, the installer doesn't start.
I think I can't find a complete download, since all the files I've tried to download are 991MB and with a generic icon, not a ME2 icon, even with the official EA link...

Greetings,

Poglia sounds like you're having the exact same problems I am. I havn't found an answer. I had similar problems with Zaeed and Firewalker DLCs but eventually got a ...Good...download FROM the EA servers. Haven't tried torrents or anything and as I said earlier, I find that unacceptable personally.

Rojar_Paren : Why are you even using IE? Rhetorical quesiton, never mind. If the browser is the issue I'd suggest another browser. I use Firefox but just this morning my brother-in-law berated me for not using Chrome. I'm thinking about it honestly.

Nomex11 : Never heard of your issue. Been fiddling with the saves? Maybe take a look at your save file in the 'my documents' file under Bioware sub folders? Then again, this thread is pertaining to DLC content not save errors. Can't be of any more help.

Still having issues myself of the decribed variety. I'm about to embark on download attempt number Nth-thousand and three.

@Mad-Hamlet

I didn't mess up with saves but after installing DLC I changed language from polish to english with polish subs and replaced original Mass Effect 2 exe with crack (no DVD). It's probably the reason. I was pissed off, but I started again.

Happily Kasumi was my first mission in this playthrough

well at least Firefox gave me an honest answer...the points server has been exploded or they havent given the hamster who powers the server farm a real beer lately . I have gotten the confirmation email that my points have been PAID for. I just CANNOT SPEND them. Yeah guys I am getting impatient, in this day and age for a server to be down so long even on a weekend, your IT just doesnt cut it.

Greetings,

rlm139 :It's a three headed dog that is from hell, what did you honestly expect? Cupcakes?

Rojar_Paren : I'm hesitant to go around screaming about fautly servers fix it now stuff purly because I have little to no idea on the number of users on the bloody things and how that technology stands up to said demand. I have no idea what level of tech EA servers even are! Though, I'd estimate somewhere above hamster. Perhaps squirrel?

I have absolutely no problems with being chicken little... because sadly it is usually the only way to get anyones attention. Consider that all other owners of the game up to this point have gotten all their other DLCs for me this is the first problem. And it still isnt working GRRR,

for you techie guys.... here is the linky where IE goes six feet under (great band by the way)

http://social.biowar...=OFB-MASS:20838

as soon as I get the link it dies..

Firefox tells me on the other hand that the points server isnt reachable.

your welcome.

Greetings,

Still looking for answers. At this point I've downloaded the file so many times I can address each part of the binary code by first name.

God DAMMIT people, I'm sick of this. There has to be someone who knows something pertaining to this nonsense. Alternative legitimate host sites, various downloading methods, something.

Seriously. It's really frustrating to have downloaded all the other (free) content, installed it with no problem, and enjoyed like we were supposed to, but then when I pay for some content the game assumes that I have an "unauthorized" copy of that content. And still no sign of a solution.

This would upset any Geth.
