Sure it is.

In Japan.
They love that depressing crap.

I was just thinking that since Quarians are a dextro-protein species and their homeworld would probably only have food that they can eat and humans can't, and while i'm not sure but wouldn't their planet be toxic or at least unpleasent to other species? so if Shepard and Tali were to do what all the talimancers want and settle down on the Quarian homeworld, Shepard would have to wear a protective suit all the time and have to eat different food then everyone else, so basically only one person in the relationship could ever live without having to wear a suit, so one person is doomed to live in a suit if they want to stay with the other one. I'm not try to sound negative or anything just trying to figure out if their relationship could last, Thoughts?

I doubt it, Quarian breathe oxygen and drink water, that really the only two requirements for shepard to live there. He'd have to be careful not to eat anything with the wrong amino acids but also remember that Shepard is no ordinary human, he got poisoned and it just pissed him off. I think all he'll have to do is import food.

This.  Or Alan Rickman.

OR BOTH.

ADD TIM CURRY AND KURT RUSSELL

gona be way too expensive to keep a cast of those people.

and you people complain about priced DLCs

I'd pay 500 dollars for a game that had the ME 2 cast plus these four guys.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wait. If you are made a love interest, I offer my sympathy of your inevitable death or the death of Shepard. :(

Yeah, I'd rather see my lovely Shep die instead of me. Cause I sure as hell aint ready to take that freaking blow Shep's suppose to get.

Why would Shepard have to be in a protective suit? He can't get any diseases there, and him "spreading his germs" isn't an issue unless it's a closed environment. And he can still drink the water and breath the air.

And as for food, he could just just take a Kodiak shuttle or whatever and buy some food; it's not like travelling between systems is any kind of issue in the ME universe. Besides, the whole dextro-chirality thing probably isn't even that big of a deal as long as he avoids protein-rich food; that's the stuff he'll lack the enzymes to break down. Most sugars are dextro chirality, for example.

^This.
It's not the atmosphere that restricts Tali to her suit, it's bacteria and viruses. At the conclusion of the romance, she removes her faceplate without dying, gasping for breath. She breathes nitrogen-oxygen, so Rannoch's atmosphere would be safe for Shepard. Worst case scenario, he'd have to get his steak and potatoes shipped in

Why don't the quarians just take a little bit of germs a day, to drive their immune systems stronger? With each year or so, they could increase the germ intake. The proccess would be slow, but eventually they would evolve out of their weakness. How long would this take? 100 years? 1000?

zzzzzz. worth a try right

Mastice, you would either need eugenics or lots of people to die for evolution. They could strengthen their immune systems during individual lifetimes, but those who increases would be acquired traits, acquired traits like that don't get passed down to offspring.

I'm a Tali fan and I'm inclined to agree with the OP.

I would imagine that if you applied "realism" [a no-no in a video game I admit] then any planet that would support Quarians without their suits would likely force Shepard to wear his suit. IIRC inter species fluid transers are bad mojo so traditional lovemaking is out. Biological children are out.

We've seen that Tali isn't likely to be able to resist physical contact even though it could hurt or kill her.

Shepard, if he "loves" her, needs to give her an out big enough to drive a Reaper through. He should likely even encourage her to take it esp. if she wants children and anything approaching a normal & healthy relationship [biologically]

Although again as pointed out, even if they found a planet capable of supporting Quarian life, Tali and the current generation wouldn't be able to reap the benefits. They would need to remain suited until their species could be adapted in a generation.

See, Shepard and Tali don't need to live on Rannoch all the time. Like Erl said, it will take generations before the Quarians are truly safe on Rannoch. So we can still have the symbolism of building her the home as father promised to do for her but failed, Shepard and Tali can appreciate the beauty of the homeworld but maybe live on ships or elsewhere most of the time.

In the ME universe I get the impression that these other worlds are likely at least going to cause some sort of minor poisonous reaction.  Shepard wouldn't likely get diseases [maybe a virus] but just breathing in pollen, drinking unfiltered water, etc. could cause issues.  Just like a Quarian can't eat our food we may have a similar reaction just walking around unprotected in their environment.

Biology isn't everything, and there are other ways to have a family than biological reproduction (if that was ever on Shep's radar.)

The relationship is going to take sacrifice and compromise on both sides, but what relationship doesn't?

Also, as pointed out, Tali can't 'evolve' to a point where she won't need her exo-suit to live on the Quarian homeworld on her own anyway. And there are treatments available on Iilium which negate the need for Exo-suits altogether (if they work). Their relationship, in the grand sphere of the game, is no more doomed than any other (and probablyconsiderably less doomed than Thane's, at it's current standing)

I think she'll die in ME3 if you did the nasty with her in ME2.

To be fair, Alamar, we have no indication of whether or not Shepard would have to wear the suit. On many planets we've been observed Shepard not needing to at all, even planets colonized by other races. Even planets covered in plant life or similar organic material. We've even been to Tuchanka, homeworld of the Krogan, without needing a suit. So it's very possible that Rannoch does not require Shepard to live inside a suit.

Or there may be immunizations available.  There are enough species sharing planets or establishing colonies on new planets that a lot of the adaptation process should be routine.

Quarians share the same Dextro-proteins/Amino acids as Turians and they seem fine breathing oxygen if you ask me... Image IPB
And IF one of them needs to wear a protective suit, it'll be Tali, she looks dead-sexy in that suit of hers! Image IPB

Also, I don't really see either Shepard or Tali settling down any time in their life soon. A house on the homeworld, sure. Someplace for Shep and Tali to retire, but to settle down... Image IPB Won't be till after they saved the galaxy from teh reeperz.
