Hey Folks,
I'm having a weird situation where I played ME1 through without any issues, played ME2, without issues, but now when I just tried to start up a new game of ME1, I get the splashscreen and then blackness. If I hit esc I hear the music but nothing else. Has anyone seen anything like this? My drivers are all up to date and nothing odd has happened to my pc. I'm at a loss!
ME1 did work, now doesn't

I got a new video card and tried to play my game and I got the windows error screen after the black screen. So I re-installed it, now I can't patch it.
So I advise you to be very careful with what you do now. Because I tried to post after trying to patch it and I lost my profile login. I have mass effect 1 and 2 and dragonage orgins registered under my indyanna login, that is gone. I'm going to try to re-register the games under this profile but I don't think it will work.
Good luck and be careful.

It let me re-register the games under this profile.
What happens on my game is it will play all the logos and flash the screen where it says hit the spacebar. Then it crashes and I get the windows error report. You won't be able to patch this game if you re-install it, because the me1 patch page is no longer online. It takes you to me2 patch page instead.

Sorry everyone, there was a new driver as of March 25 that I didn't have... Something in the last driver upgrade (not long ago) must have broken something that was then fixed again last month.
and thanks for your advice Clarica!

You're welcome. Btw, I lost all my promo codes to the other profile.
My new video card is a ATI radeon hd 1gb pcie vga/dvi/hdmi oem and was installed yesterday. The newest drivers were downloaded and installed yesterday. I was searching on google and read about a hotfix for me2 at this link.

Hopefully it'll work for me1.
Eta:
It worked. The hot fix isn't included in the newest drivers. It has to be downloaded and installed, then you have to rescan your sysytem in the me/configure/configuration utility and it will work. After installing the drivers hot fix it (me1) would not work until I did a system re-scan.
