I want to see dead children

omg

I know, I could not get past that either.  I just read it and started laughing.  I mean it's absurd!  I get wanting realism, but that might take it too far, bro.

The OP has a moderate point.

The killing of children by an enemy has the ability to rile up a country and their allies, for example, look up the bombing of london by the ****s.
That being said, thats real life, this is a video game. While I think we will hear of the killing of innocent children we will not see it, because it is not nessecary for Bioware to show it.

That and...I am sure you all are familar with the term media **** storm....well this would be a media **** hurricane.

Realism is all well and good, but this is not the type of game to include something such as dead kids.

I wouldn't be put off by having dead children or children dieing in the game.
TBH I can't understand why its such a tabboo thing to display a child dieing yet in other games its perfectly fine to slaughter innoccent people...

Either way a person dies, whats the difference besides a few years + puberty?

I would like to see children for realismn, but I don't want to kill them. Though saying that, if you find a dead child body, it'll be extremely hard to take the paragon choice and send the killer to jail. For tough choices, children will make it harder.

Well, in DA:O if you chose the human noble origin, you see your brothers child lying dead on the floor, which was done well in DA:O because it gave you more of a reason to decapitate someone.

I agree, game developers need to know that for emotion fueled stories like this you need to pull all the stops to make sure the player feels and knows just what is at stake. I will draw the line at games like GTA because to have children in those types of sandboxes are just giving news stations ammunition to blame games for violent behavior.
All I'm saying is that for story games like this where you aren't necessarily killing children but just seeing it would I think hit the player in a whole new way.

I agree with the OP. We need to see more dead children in games. The Mary Whitehouse-esque PC brigade need to get stuffed. If it makes sense for children to be somewhere, children should damn well be there. If it makes sense for them to be dead/killable/dying, then that's what should be shown. It boggles my mind that even in the digital age, the non-gaming population doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between what's real or virtual, and seems to think that gamers cannot either.

Fallout and Fallout 2 had killable children, and it was great. It gave benevolent players something to protect, and malevolent players a way to be even more evil than before. I hate the current tread of making children either invincible or nonexistant.

There won't be children because children don't die in real wars...

Also, Fox would absolutely sh!t the bed if someone showed actual pictures of an actual war without censoring, imagine what they would do if someone showed fake dead babies?

Some controversy isn't worth the bullsh!t.

Silly OP.

You'll never see kids.

They're playing in the ducts.

Bioware kinda did use that tactic to invest some emotion in another game of theirs. So it's not unthinkable they can add it to ME3. Having the player be able to kill them won't be added I think.

Child-killing banned in many foreign countries. Ban results in decreased sales, decreased sales results in decreased profit. Not good for BioWare, not good for EA.

Different countries have different cultural vulgarities. Child-killing censored in Europe. Illustration of human bones banned in China. Use of nuclear weapons prohibited in Japan.

Must tread lightly. Censorship problematic.

When the Star Wars III had a bunch of kids killed, it didn't give me a strong emotional response against any of the characters, it just made me find the movie distasteful.

I guess you bored or whatever, but it's never going to happen because there will be never be EA game that is rated AO.

Thread over.

No but there are plenty rated M. And that's all it needs to be. The thread continues....

You really are a raging idiot, and this your other many reposnses simply gel so well.

Dead Space and Prey depicted non human unrealistic fanstasy violence and clearly states so in the submission.

Deadly violence agasint human children in ANY form regardless of setting is an immediate AO rating, which means no EA, no Wal*Mart, and no Steam.

Which means you've just spent millions creating a game that no one will stock.

Buh bi thread.
