I did no such thing. They continued to play, they just had to beat me to win. That's how a game works, every player is trying to win, and if that means someone else loses, that's how it goes.

Honestly, where do you people get off? What gives you the right to decide who deserves to play and win? No entrant in this contest deserved a prize any more than any other. They earned those prizes through a combination of skillful play and luck. The people who lost auction 55 didn't lose because I'm a New Yorker, they lost because they couldn't or didn't outbid me. If I were from Minnesota and eligible for the prize, they would have lost just the same. Tough break.

I used to be part of the community. Now I'm a New Yorker. But you know what? I'm still part of the community, the same as the rest of you- not because I'm eligible for any giveaways, but because I play and enjoy BioWare games. Just as I played and enjoyed this one. And I frankly resent the idea that the only ones who are worthy to play a game are the ones who can expect some physical reward out of it.

Why the objections, people? Is it simple jealousy?

Yes....I'm very jealous of you.

On a serious note, the problem (as Sherana said) is you created a false minimum bid with full knowledge that you would stop people who actually had a chance from being able to bid.  This has nothing to do with me I don't care about who won or lost, but I find it amazing that you HAD to win soo badly at a fake auction with prizes that you couldn't collect that you stopped legitimate people from participating.  If you were unaware of your ineligibility prior to bidding than I wouldn't have a problem with this but you made it clear that you were informed before hand.  The reality is there may have been a person out there that had a higher bid ready for said item than the 2nd place bidder but lower that yours, that person got screwed over by you and your reasoning is because winning makes you feel better about yourself.  Seriously I'm not totally naive, I know there are a whole lot of f'd up people in this country, but this is just dumb and then acting like everyone elses disapproval is unfounded.....Image IPB

On the other hand, there's the possibility that the runner-up will have a quite-low post count, which'd help alleviate the entire "OMG, needed 10k+ tokens to bid!"-issue.

This's especially the case if BioWare recursively recalculates the runner-up's tokens until the runner-up has a higher token count than third place.

Jeebus tap dancing Christ, I thought the whining was done with but the OP has given reason to legitimately complain, you knowingly took part in an auction, that you had (according to the rules) no right to take part in at all!??

I hope BW give the prizes to the next highest bidder, or re-auction them.

I'm starting to smell a troll...

Seriously, can any one person be this much of an a-hole? I'm beginning to think we're all the victims of a very well thought out ruse. It's like he's just begging to be flamed.

The worst part is he has some great arguments and good points about the Bazaar and the rules :pinched: So unfortunte that he's going to give ammo to those who want to wine about the Bazzar

Oh, and OP, I'll take a stab at explaining a problem with you bidding when you knew you couldn't get a prize.  The person who came in second gets the graphics card, yay.  The problems is that they also got their points back.  They, then, likely bid on something else.  Now they have two prizes.  That's a problem.  Someone is going to be shorted a prize that they would have been able to bid and get becuase of that.

One thing I do miss about the Bazaar, was being able to tip people when they write a good post.  The OP had some very vaild points, and there's been some other good posts in this thread.  If only we could have some sort of forum gamerscore,...

You are getting criticism because while you point out lots of logical things that most of us agree with, you end things with "and then I threw a wrench in and screwed things up for other people just because I could, lol"

I wonder if the OP really thought that they wouldn't get the prize? I mean if the whole process was automated then there would still be the possibility of getting the prize even though they lived in New York in otherwords just hoping to fall through the cracks in the process. He already proved that this was at least partial motivation with the grey area of setting up proxy clicks. This would make more sense to me then I am going to be an a**hole just to be an a**hole

The biggest flaw in the Bazaar is that it was only fun for a select few, the majority of people didn't even get to participate in the actual auctions. This is because the tokens had NO value, so people just through tokens at nearly every auction, knowing that if you lose you get your tokens back and you can try again. Tokens should have been spent and gone regardless if you won or loss. Make a bid, the tokens should have been gone.

I don't think it was not winning that left a sour taste in people's mouths. It was the fact that they never had a chance to actually participate. Had they been able to actually play along with everyone else, they would have had more fun, win or lose.

To the op of this thread:

You are a f@cking douchebag and should have your social account banned and your IP permanently blocked.

If any moderators view this - please ban this guy.

To any Bioware employees that see this - this is case in point what went wrong with this event. Your real fans got screwed. Cheaters won.

You had a great idea, it was a cool thing to do, but the implementation was very flawed. I can't believe that you didn't find some way to block the proxy users or weed them out.
