Why aren't these concept armors in the game?! Can we get them in a DLC?

More DLC is always appreciated as long as it has quality.

Yeah i agree, rogues only get those silly caps too lol, i want hoods and other light armor meshes. Mages need proper robes too and hoods.. oh well.soteria wrote...
Not to rain on your parade, but I'd prefer Bioware didn't spend their time designing yet another set of massive armor. I'd much prefer to see some unique medium and light armor models, or even heavy. Light armor doesn't even have variety in skins, much less meshes.

The first one is the Warden Commander Armor which you can get from the Warden's Keep DLC.Cowboy_christo wrote...
The armor with the gryphon is in
the game errr dlc warden's keep lol As for the shield im not sure but i
think i saw it somewhere ingame. And the armor of sten look like most
armor you can find except it look incomplete around the arm. The others
well i dunno but you cant expect all artwork to be have an exact replica
ingame.
The chest emblem IS the same as the Warden Commander Armor, but the color, and more importantly, the mesh/model are definitely not the same. It just uses the standed massive human armor mesh. The armor pictured to the top-left of the forums, as well as in sacred ashes (very very similar if not same) look much more like the Mesh/Model for the blood dragon armor in ME2. Just look how the chest armor protrudes in the picture above where they are side-by-side. Also notice the helm, which is not similar to any helm in DA:O or DA:A.
The large round wooden shield from Wardens Keep armorer is quite similar but doesn't have the pattern around the edges, but the one in the Sacred Ashes trailer appears to be a metal round shield as well. Either way, the shield really isn't my biggest concern.
And the sword, which is surprisingly quite nice looking compared to most in the game, is entirely abscent as far as I know. (I have looked extensively).AlanC9 wrote...
What makes you think those were ever
implemented in the game? The Sacred Ashes video obviously isn't in-game
footage.
I had assumed there would be similar enough armor in the game based of the pictures and video, but after a few play-thrus, realized that I was probably wrong, and since no one else has seemed to find them (I've asked in the forums before) I've given up hope they're in the game. I am just saying that they SHOULD be implemented into the game thru either a DLC or Expansion, and hope that others would agree and voice the same opinion here as to get the attention of the development team.
You can change the tint of the Warden Armor. There is also a mod that can mirror the shoulder piece so that it's the same on both sides. I haven't bothered to see if the shield can be upgraded, but it should be interesting to see if it does.
And Sten's armor...I was trying to think off the top of my head. I stopped playing while the bazaar was going on.

The heavy armor users really didn't get "fellated".. If you look at the models for the armors, really each level (light, medium, heavy, massive) only has 2 models each (3 AT MOST) and then just different textures for them so it SEEMS like more (which seems lazy to me) The only problem I have with what they did to light armors is that all the textures are the same, they just slightly change the tint depending on the material... which was even more lame.

For pic 1,2 and 3 Bioware might not have put the texture in but the model is there, but if you want it there is always the mod community

Cause Ghost11 and Teraki put the armor in http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=647
As for the Blood Dragon Armor yes the pics look better but that was concept art, and stens is done but someone else but still looks good
The model may be SIMILAR but no where near as great as the images on the sites or even the render in Sacred Ashes...you can't really say its there.. here is a picture high-lighting the differences..

Dam that is an excellent work. too bad for xbox uses like me we can't use this.

Mods are the biggest reason I support PC gaming; moders can create alot of great material with little to no support from the Devs. I saw some excellent mods that looked even better then stuff I have seen from dev made dlc's.

Oh well, the game has been out long enough now that Bioware won't care about this thread anyway.
I personally would like a much larger variation of armors to choose from instead of only a couple.

Me too! I really do hope that if they do release future DLC or another Expansion that they also include new armor MODELS/MESHES and not just retextures. It just seems so lazy.

Anyways, yes, I would like to see the Sacred Ashes armor in Dragon Age, wouldn't anyone... The armor is so awesome; although, even that guy's tattoo isn't in the main game as well. I also wish that Sten's character model wasn't so freaking ugly.
I wonder how these modders do these things. I mean we didn't get the DLC transfer to Awakening, yet modders made it happen in less than a day I heard. I wonder what slobs those game developers hire...

The only game that really surprised me with the different armor varieties was Dungeon Siege. I think I played that game so many times, yet I still come across some new armors. Oh-well, I just hope that some future medieval rpg type games give players a lot more variety in armor. I haven't seen any next-gen games that offer enough different varieties of armor, which is probably the reason why BioWare keeps everything simple...
Yeah, it's really sad that most RPGs just retexture the same 2 or 3 armors over and over. Does it really take that long to make a new model when you're paid to do it all day? I mean I know the story and gameplay obviously come first, but a large amount of unique items also increases replayability by a lot. At least the medium, heavy, and massive armors have a few retuxtures for them, whereas light armor really just as 2 models (practiaclly the same except studded leather covers the entire body) and only 1 texture for each armor that just change tints, it just seems so lazy. All of it. It's really one of my biggest complaints for DAO and most newer RPGs too.. (NWN 1&2, TES, GW, etc etc).
Fortunately for the PC users there is the toolset and an amazing community of modders.SOLID_EVEREST wrote...

My personal favorite Sten-redux (and other characters) is here. And yes... anyone who doesn't at least WANT the sacred ashes armor in the game must have been hit in the head a few times..

Well, the modders to get to build on what has already been created instead of from scratch, and work without a "time-frame" or a boss telling them to get things done and what have you. So you can't automatically assume modders > developers, though more and more when it comes to models and NPC aesthetics (lore and story based as well as just general anatomy).
But I am starting to think developers don't have a clue when a character is dying and he looks fine, or a wife doesn't notice something is wrong with her "dead" husband, or a characters face looks ridiculously out of proportion (happens so often too)..those are just "WTF were they thinking?!" moments. It's moments like this I'm glad there's modders who go around and fix it. Which means I also have to thank bioware for the toolset release.
