ok first of all i read the post about NOT installing the toolset if your running SP2. i was running sp3 when i installed this. now everything seemed to be going fine during the install so i walked awat from my comp for a sec to let it finish. when i returned i noticed my computer had restarted.

i didnt think this was a big deal i figured it restarted because windows required a restart for the program to settle into the system. then i noticed that there was no new icon for the toolset i installed. so i clicked on the the installer exe again.

now heres where the problem starts. after i clicked on the icon my computer wasnt "frozen" but i was not able to do ANYTHING. i could move the mouse but that was it. so i restarted to try and fix the problem, when it booted back up it was the same thing as soon as i clicked on anything my computer would "freeze". from time to time it will bluescreen now, im not really sure what triggers the bluescreen but it seems to happen if i dont click anything upon booting up and just leaving it there for awhile.

now ive read some post concerning the installer being broken or whatever, but thats not my problem as far as i know the installer was working fine. but now i cant do anything on my computer.

i do NOT want to have to reformat over this stupid problem so if anyone has any info on how i can fix this please post here

sorry for the wall of text but....its a tough problem to explain and my english grammar is not so good

a really easy way to fix this is to press F8 during boot up and choose the option

Last configuration that worked, or something similar. it won't fix your toolset problem but at least youc an use your computer.

thanks but that didnt fix my problem. though i have read some more of the post concerning toolset problems i think i have it figured out. i booted in safemode and turned off my sql services, then uninstalled them. im reinstalling them now, so im hoping that just doing that will fix the problem
