While I was thinking of how Bioware could handle squadmates in ME 3 (considering how many crazy combinations there are, relationship, morality, death) I thought of one choice they could make. What if in ME 3 you can recruit any of the old crew ME 1-2, but only 6? Just like in the first game where you had only six squad members instead of ME 2's 10 (I believe...).

My question is, if you had to choose, what six people would be in your group? Also consider that whoever you pick is whoever you can romance, talk to, and do missions with. All others who were not recruited would dissolve into mini quests such as Liara's in ME 2, or like simply meeting Ashley or Kaidan on Freedom's Progress.

My six would be:

Liara
Tali
Garrus
Mordin
Samara
Grunt

And just to mix it up a little bit, if you were in a situation where one of your six had to be left behind (Virmire style ) then who would you choose?

I think ME3 will hinge largely on having help from previous squadmates in getting their respective races/interest groups to help you in a big picture kind of way. As such, I'd choose my six based on what they could bring to the Reaper fight.

Mordin for his ability to cure the Genophage

Legion for the Geth

Ashley/Kaidan for Alliance Military Support

Liara for her connections and resources
