If it's a dazip file, go to Dragon age/bin_ship and use Daupdater.exe program, it will install it automatically, otherwise, unzip it to My documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Packages/core/override (override folder doesn't exist by default, you must create it).

If you installed a mod from a dazip file first make sure you have a clean and good saved game.
Then go to the mod-list in game (downloadable content / installed content) and deactivate the mod you want to get rid of by unchecking the box next to the name of the mod.
It should then say deactivated under it.
Now its deactivated but not uninstalled which for most should be fine and all you need to do.
If you unzipped it to the core/override folder, then go there and delete the files.
You can also use DAModder to easily install and completely uninstall mods.

.dds files.
Extract these files to:
C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\Packages\\core\\Override
You may have to create the override folder.
The original file you download will compressed and you will need 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to extract it . This is a free download.

gergutier,
You might get a better answer if you set up your own thread with steam in the title ie - Installing DLC with Steam edition - then Steam users may look at the thread and give you your answer.

There are a couple of good mod managers available to help with installation, management, etc., and both support drag-and-drop. They both have slightly different features, so you may want to check them out and see which one you prefer.

When you say take it out do you mean unticking (deactivating) the mod in the mod list.
This is all you need to do to deactivate the mod if it shows in the list.
Doing this should not take away anything you have gained due to the mod unless of course that anything (content) is also part of a deactivated mod.
