Yes, but there were not hundreds of thousands of fans that both participated and hang out regularly on this site, that were eligible.
I'd say about 40 to 50% of people meeting those criteria won, and the rest have nothing to complain about.

You think that 800-900 people participated?

No. I think 800-900 people actually tried to win things that post regularly here.

winning anything. So I spent my time during the auction building an
Excel database of the 412 auctions. Some fascinating stuff in there.
For my (lengthy)

Your article had some good, yet still some really naive, whiny points.
Then, I got to the part entitled And The Ugly (American) in which, for some reason, you spend the entire last paragraph insulting Americans.
Hack.

What you call "insulting Americans" is an observation on how MANY outside the US view American and their behavior. And after seeing just all of the "Click meeeeeee!" scrambling that has gone on for more than a week, I'm quite certain many more people have that megative opinion of us. "_Anything_ to win" behavior isn't exactly going to earn people's respect.
But seeing as you, obviously (with a bid of 14410 tokens), had most likely been engaged in the aforementioned negative behavior, it's rather unlikely that you can even begin to imagine what you folks just did for the American image abroad.

You can take your smug attitude and shove it.
This is the internet. If all it takes is spamming links around, people will do it no matter where they are from. Do you really think American image is going to be damaged? The people that were annoyed by the spam probably didn't even click the links, do you think they did an in depth search on the details of the contest, found that only Americans were allowed to participate, then came to the conclusion, "AH, those dirty Americans being boorish again!" No. People always annoy people on the internet, regardless of the nationality.
I won a prize because I used creativity and won 7 twitter contests. Once again, take that smug, apologist attitude and shove it.
With love,

So, are you guys planning careers in Marketing or telemarketing? "If you don't like spam, stay off the Internet!"
Anyone notice that winners in whatever competition invariably label those that complain about that competition "whiners"? Well, you pretty much have to, don't you? Otherwise, if you acknowledge that the complaints have any kind of validity, then it means that you, as winners, had willfully engaged in a questionable activity. Totally undercuts that "I've won!" sensation.

What does any of that have to do with when the prizes are being mailed out?

Can't lose if you don't play The Game (whatever it may be). Never even tried to place a bid. But I did spend the auction time following those that seriously competed for prizes. EVERY single "serious" competitor had one thing in common: no compunction about begging for referral clicks. If your self-image has no problem with that kind of behavior, then I'm puzzled why you're even concerned about anyone else's criticisms about how the Bazaar was operated.

How 'bout me of the book pack of the oh-so-massive 8800? Y'know, the one that I got by posting my link three times and putting in a sig? Gawrsh, that sure is loads and loads of spam.

If you have a copy of list can I see it?
Well, this is like the real world werer if you really want something you are willing to beg and eat chit to get what you want. If you want the prizes I bet everyone did not care, as long as they worked the ars off for their ultimate goal.
Also, isnt it natural for the winners to label all those who fail whiners? Look at all those in the powerhouse of the world, I bet in there hearts they pity and may dislike those below them.
I feel privileged to have a house over my head and the opportunity to go to school, but there are those out there who start out with nothing and work their way to the top. Why praise them, and then insult the winners of the auction for working to the top for prizes?
O yeah in the rules it says 6-8 weeks, but it depends on the size of the package and the time to process the paperwork.

Nothing to do with luck. You are a spammer and non-BioWare fan... at least that is what some people will sit around and say. Which I find really funny from Cpt.Patch who has been spamming his little article in every thread all day while insulting others for being spammers.
Truth is you should never take someone seriously who uses so much hyperbole, speculation, heresay, insults, and generalzations. Just point, laugh, and move on.

That's because _everyone_ who didn't win isn't on these forums being a baby. It's not "odd", "suspicious" or "curious", it's a natural thing that those who have no issue - go back to their lives. You represent a very vocal minority, though I'm not sure you're aware of this.
