NY MUST be used. There is no other city as iconic.

Maybe that's the case if you're American. For me? Not so much.

Oh really?  Where is your brilliant suggestion?

Considering that the USA is only one of about 195 countries, i am sure that there are better and more original places for bioware to set their mission (assuming there will be one) than the obvious New York or Washington settings.

Exactly every nationality believes it's major cities are the most iconic (go London!!!)
I hope it is in London. or Amsterdam, Amsterdam now that would be fun.

If you took a poll worldwide -- in fact, if you took a poll worldwide and included NO ONE from the United States -- I suspect NY would just edge out London for most recognizable city. Of course, that doesn't mean that either of those places needs to be in ME 3. Personally, I think I'd rather see them put it in a city that doesn't actually exist, and only make references to several iconic, contemporary cities -- maybe showing things like Big Ben and Eiffel Tower as preserved monuments.

why does it have to be in America? I'm not American and i dont think every bad thing that happens on Earth has to take place in NY. Why not London? Or Berlin? I know NY is iconic but really, i doubt the reapers would chose one of the most iconic citys in the world to start their attack. They'd just attack the first place they go to.

And didnt that dude in Kasumi's loyatly mission have the statue of liberty's head in it? What if there is no New York.

I thought USA was no more after the 2nd civil war and it is now called the United North American State.

Also Mr.Chung was the President that recommissioned the statue's head? The world seems to be alot more diverse in 100 years.

Its pretty obvious (I think) we're going to be going to Earth in ME3 at some point and I'm looking forward to that. But please don't make it New York. I feel like I live there due to the amount of films and games (especially science fiction) that are set there.

The writers and designers obviously have more imagination than that so hopefully we go somewhere a bit less familiar.

What about LeighPark in Portsmouth UK LMAO:P - its a right sh!thole

I was actually thinking about this today while playing ME1 again. If we do go to Earth which I am expecting we will in ME3 I don't want it to be in NYC either its so darn cliche. It would be cool if you went to a barren land where everything was gone or something but not NYC please Bioware that will annoy me.

I'm thinking India, according to alot of the lore it appears that India and the countries around there have formed one of the better Megatropolises on Earth, while places like the Texan megatropolis are fading and run down. I do get the feeling that with all the "Everyone is breeding with everyone now" and such like we won't be limited to the usual locations.

They should use Washington State, (where I live (: ) or the Middle East or Jump Zero

Edit: The Middle East because of the vague Jesus references Shepard has

Some new fictional city in Antarctica would be my vote. Seems like the most logical place for the Alliance to have a base on earth if nothing else.

I hope we get to go to Earth in ME3.  I also hope, that when we get there, it's a blasted, black-skied, cratered wasteland where the bulk of humanity is fighting on the razor's edge of extinction to hold the homeworld against the Reapers.

And out mission there is to get the human forces fighting for a murdered Earth to fall back.

I really wouldn't be surprised if the formation of the Alliance had created a new Earth Capital City.

Like D.C. is separate from all the states, it might be somewhere separate, too, not in any one country, but on common ground.
