Here's what should happen...(this is going to be a part of my fan fiction, so don't any of you dare steal it):
Before the final few prothean survivors died, they discovered a possible way to destroy the reapers, once and for all. They hid their creation on a primitive backwater world (Earth), where it would be safe from harm, and so that the reapers could not find it.
ME3: the reapers attack earth first, you go to save the planet, and find that they are looking for something. As you fight your way through the reaper ground forces you find more and more data saying that they are indeed looking for something. You enter a massive cave, and see a strange device. It is a large four pronged device. On top of one of the prongs you see something very familiar...One of the silver Prothean orbs (those wierd floating balls)
Someone's been stealing plots from stargate SG-1...

1. This is not Halo.
2. Please tell me this is a subtle joke.

@the person who mentioned Bailey's NYC comment: The way he says it, it seems like NY isn't any less safe than it is today (which is to say, there's still a lot of crime).
NYC would be perfectly fine if we're visiting Earth, just like any other major city.

I thought USA was no more after the 2nd civil war and it is now called the United North American State.
Also Mr.Chung was the President that recommissioned the statue's head? The world seems to be alot more diverse in 100 years.
Its essentially still the USA, the name was changed after it absorbed Canada and Mexico.
(Ha, so much for Bioware's national pride, they had themselves absorbed by their southern neighbor in their storyline.)

Its pretty obvious (I think) we're going to be going to Earth in ME3 at some point and I'm looking forward to that.
How exactly is it obvious?

just stay outta hove and we're cool (its ok I know you have not heard of it)
I've heard about it, I hear you guys don't even have flying cars yet.
Let's just NOT go to earth, unless that's where the victory-party is, which I doubt since I've only invited Liara to that and that party is in my cabin, involving some eternity embracing and virtual BBQ.

Toronto or Edmonton would be great considering BioWare is Canadian.
How about Montreal instead? Better food and more strip clubs, which Shepard seems rather fond of. As a Canadian, I would like to think that future Toronto would be a vast hole in the ground, the earth salted so that nothing and no one could ever live there again. I mean, it's the future, there has to be some progress, right?
