Andrew Jay Harris "Akhenaten" from Judas Iscariot. Not really favourite but he is good.

Joe Duplantier of Gojira. I hesitate to say he's my favorite, but I think he and the stuff he's written has had the most influence on me and my musical taste.

OnlyShallow: I had wondered if your name was a My Bloody Valentine reference.  Now I know.  Well, probably.

One of mine is going to be the inestimable Marc Ribot.  He has played on quite a few of Tom Waits' albums, in addition to collaborating with John Zorn, performing with other groups, and releasing solo music as well.

David Gilmour, John Mcbain (not really for his skill), Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Josh Homme, Jus Oborn (not really for his skill though), Peter Buck, Jimmy Hendrix, Wata, Adam Jones (again not really for skill)...

Bass Players (just to throw out some love): Phil Lynott, Lemmy, Geezer Butler, Scott Reeder, Nick Oliveri

This list would be a massive picture fest... hmm, should look for some later...

Gilmour would be my #1 however

I forgot one, Robert Fripp

Doing one is easier than quite a few, also a pic of Wata of Boris:

I just thought of two more: Neil Young, and Andy Cohen (formerly of the band Silkworm, and presently of Bottomless Pit).

And, since there are quite a few classic rock picks out there and he has yet to be mentioned, I'll throw in Robbie Robertson (of The Band) as well.

Indeed it is! Saw them on the first leg of their reunion tour, and it was quite literally mindblowing.

As for a few more:

There can be only 1: Jimmy Page.

But if there could be 2, the other one would be John Petrucci

I fell in love with Dick Dale after Tarantino used his music in Pulp Fiction.  I have a book of his that shows his pick before, during, and after playing a song.  The thing literally melted into a little nub from his shredding.

Probably one of the most obscure, yet talented, guitarist/singer/songwriters, Roddy Frame (Aztec Camera).
