A mission that provides a Combat Power cooldown bonus.

It would be very nice.

I guess the most common rationale is that "the Soldier would be way OP"

but you can't really say that when the Adept has a 90% damage bonus and 40% cooldown reduction.

On another note: I don't see why the Soldier gets two class-specific powers. Concussive shot just happens to be one of my favorite abilities, but the soldier is my least favorite class.

As a combat power, I think all the combat classes should get it.

It would have been a lot better if Infiltrator got CS instead of AI Hacking and Vanguard got CS instead of Shockwave.

As ammo powers aren't classified as combat powers, the Infiltrator and Vanguard actually get no combat power training. All they get is an extra gun.

Not really needed. There's an entire list of Biotic abilities, but a very small list of Combat abilities. The only power that would see a significant reduction is Fortification, and that only by about 2 seconds. Concussive Shot would only get a 1 second reduction, so there's really not much point.

Being able to launch 20% more powers is nothing to sneeze at. And a lot of the classes can benefit from bonus powers or squad powers, but the cooldown is so long.

When you're only getting one extra second off of each power, it takes a while for that 'bonus' to add up. Even then, you'd have to be spamming a power for the bonus to be really noticeable. Combat Powers don't really see much use, as most people are rather busy firing their weapons. Combat Powers are simply a supplement to your weapon damage, so providing a cooldown bonus to something that is rarely used seems rather pointless. Biotics and Tech attacks, on the other hand, are used quite often, so they do get a benefit from their Cooldown reduction.

I see where you're coming from. But there are ways to play as a Combat Power specialist. With AR, CS, and one of the grenades you have a really good line up. Not to mention it would be nice for Zaeed, Garrus, Grunt, and Kasumi to get the cooldowns as well.

If you were spamming CS you would be able to launch it twice more in one minute than without a cooldown bonus.

If you were spamming AR you would be able to use it 4 more times in one minute than without the bonus.

If, in one firefight, you were to use CS, Fortification and AR it would take you at least 21 seconds whereas it would take only 17.5 seconds with a cooldown bonus.

It would make certain squadmates a lot more useful and would make the Inferno/Flashbang Grenade viable on other classes.

And it would balance out the DLC.

Kasumi was best for Engineers and Firewalker was best for Adepts and Sentinels. The Soldier in no way directly benefits from either.

It doesn't seem like a lot of time, but the firefights in this game are a lot shorter than they feel. Any time shaver for Combat powers would compel me to actually play as a Soldier for one entire playthrough

More guns, pistols to be specific since there are only 2 at the moment. Not sure why there are so many variation of heavy weapons, but we only have an average of 2-3 per gun category. Yea, more guns.

More guns would be nice. But I still don't see why Combat powers, aside from AR and Fort., even -need- cooldowns.

CS is essentially a grenade launcher. What is even recharging?

When I throw a grenade was it so much strain on my arm that I needed to wait 6s before I could throw another.

If combat powers are designed to augment your weapon damage you should be able to use them in a similar way to medi-gel if we don't get cooldown bonuses.

You should have a capacity for grenades and concussive shots like medi-gel and be able to upgrade it.

It makes sense to not be able to use grenades if I don't have anymore but it doesn't make sense to have to wait.

With Biotic powers you have to manipulate mass effect fields and I can see why your ability to use them should be based on recharging your mental stamina. With tech abilities it makes sense to have to let your omni-tool cooldown for a few seconds to prevent an overheat or something, but there is not lore-based reason as to why I can't throw two grenades in a row, or at least in quick succession.

Combat power cooldown? Sure, why not. But I see lack of pistol choice and few individual armour pieces as a bigger issue, and easier to rectify (power cooldown would probably mean a mission, while a pistol can just be sent through the mail by Illusive Man).
