Somehow I was a complete moron and walked right by the sniper weapon upgrade on the Recruit Warlord mission.  I'm really annoyed because I use the sniper a lot.

If you miss an upgrade during a mission, is there any way to get it later in the game (e.g. via store or something)?

If there isn't, does anyone know if there are any editors out there that I can use?  It was a long time before I noticed that I missed it, I'd have to play that mission plus two others and a lot of surveying, grrr.  I tried one editor but it didn't appear to open up weapon upgrades.

thanks for any tips!

You can never get that upgrade again, and your sniper will become as lethal as a pea shooter.

But without it you can't progress through the entirety of the Sniper upgrade tree

Upgrade tree? There is no tree. Nothing is linear. Missing one Sniper Rifle Upgrade will not keep you from getting the 2 weapon-specific bonuses. And the damage bonus lost by missing the upgrade isn't going to make the game impossible to play.

Personally, I think the OP has two choices: live without it and continue the game, or restart and make sure he gets it the next time through.

There are 5 total Sniper Rifle damage upgrades available.  You only need 3 total damage upgrades to unlock the armor piercing and increased headshot damage bonuses.  This means that the OP can miss a second Sniper Rifle damage upgrade and still unlock those bonus abilities.

Exactly. He will have to wait a little longer to unlock them, but he can still unlock them.

Hey thanks guys - I didn't realize there were "excess" damage upgrades. I definitely don't care about the 10%, I just was worried I'd never be able to get all of the other bonus upgrades.

No, there's no issue there. There are 5 Damage Upgrades for each weapon. At 2 and 3 upgrades, you'll also unlock the bonus upgrades; however, you do not need the bonus upgrades to get the next damage upgrades.

Yeah, it's no biggie. Every time I've played through ME2 I've missed one or two upgrades. I still end up beating the game no problem.
