It would probably be better if Shepard made a new team for the reaper assault while the surviving team from ME2 ran around on seperate but equally important quests.  That way they can have epic cameos in the final battle without draining resources for the main game.  If they died in ME2 then it would be some other character taking their place.

So you want it to be just like from ME 1 to ME 2?

ME2 would go down a couple notches in my book if they did this. <_<

If you really look at things objectively this is an acceptable option.  Do you really think Shepard would have these people followng him around when they could be out preparing for the final battle while he is taking care of whatever quest he is on.  Tali could be getting the fleet in order if you didn't get her exiled.  Mordin could be working with the STG.  Grunt could be training "The Lance".  Samara and Thane only signed up for the suicide mission.  Miranda could very well take over Cerberus.
So I say mostly new team with cameos from the ol;d team.

Sorry but I rather go into the battle with Garrus and Miri at my side then some new person. So as I said, how about you go to hell?

You are objectively wrong. We have reached a consensus.

Not exactly.  in 1 to 2 everyone lost contact with Shepard.  In 3 everyone is working with or for Shepard to prepare, just not latched onto him as squaddies.

The heretics reached a consensus as well and you see how that turned out for them.

That would be a waste of combat utility.  Everyone has their roles and those that have signed on with Shepard did so for a reason.

I think it would serve well for certain characters but I would want some oldies to return.

I agree, I think most - if not all - NPCs from ME2 should be busy with their respective races or staying behind until the game's finale, though it would be nice to have a few familiar faces around such as Liara, Garrus, Tali and Ashley/Kaidan but it wouldn't affect my opinion of the game just because X isn't in it.

Yea, let's recruit such a badass team of specialists and then disband them all when the Reapers, the greatest threat to the galaxy, is the enemy. wat

Now that the Suicide mission is complete, there are better uses for the best and brightest in the galaxy.  Heck they could actually still be temporary squaddies if they survived, but the main squad should be either new or customizable. Image IPB

There are better uses? Really? Is fighting against the Reapers, who are able to kill everyone, not a good use?

So we should have people who are not the best or brightest going into the final mission that determines the fate of the galaxy? WHAT?

I never said disband them.  I said having them do parallel work to the main goal.  They don't need Shepard to babysit them to prepare for the reapers.

That mission may be over, but the Reapers are still a threat.  With this base we can further enhance Humanities potential.  But Shepard must remain on the frontlines.

Why would they let you pursue LI with two characters from the first game and then just throw them out the window for ME3? :/
