You didn't specify whether you wanted a serious or non-serious, A- or B-movie type of sci-fi film. If you're into non-serious and comedy I'd recommend the cult classic that is The Fifth Element. Absolutely thrilling and hilarious from start to finish, with a motley crew of characters including an unrecognizable Gary Oldman as a doomsayer priest, a ravishingly stunning Milla Jovovich as our heroine / damsel in distress and a Bruce Willis who's completely comfortable playing the retired-soldier-turned-cab-driver in futuristic New York City. Good for a few laughs and a light weekend over popcorn and soda. :)

For me, like a lot of people, the movie was excellent until the ending.

The Fifth Element

What was that honey? It was BAD! It had no fire, no energy, no nothing! So tomorrow from 5 to 7 will you PLEASE act like you have more than a two word vocabulary. It must be green.

Now, this is just my opinion so take it as you will but Pandora and Sunshine SUCK. Awful, awful films.

I'd agree with The Fifth Element.

Check out Pitch Black is you haven't seen that, I really enjoyed it.

Underrated film right here, not enough World War One movies. This one is about perhaps the bloodiest and most gruesome battle ever fought in the modern age, Passchendaele.

There is no racism in space, only a lack of oxygen.

Oooh! Taken is another good movie. Much better than I expected, to be quite honest.

With Liam Neeson?

Or are you talking about the 2002 one?

It's always fun to watch the vigilante dispose of human scum.
