Oooh! Taken is another good movie. Much better than I expected, to be quite honest.

With Liam Neeson?

Or are you talking about the 2002 one?

Not sci-fi at all, but Ninja Assassin is a great way to fill an hour and a half with blood, death and ninja badassedness.

But...the OP was asking for Sci-Fi movies...

Well, I guess all movies are welcome.

Well, he asked for good movies, and said that he'd prefer something sci-fi. He didn't rule out all other genres. Image IPB

To answer all of your answers into one I have seen Moon(it was about H-3 so i had to watch), the fifth element(which I loved), pandorum was also good, equilibrium (i didnt care for it), twelve monkeys(better than equilibrium but not by much), blues brothers(only funny scene was when the Nun was hitting them), and predator series(i loved the second one). I love the riddick movies and the games had a good story, so yes I have seen Pitch Black. Also I just finished Cube, i didn't hate it but that might be because Rodney Mckay from Stargate Atlantis is in it. I watch alot of movies and im glad im getting alot of suggestions! Keep them coming I love watching movies!

edit: added some info on some movies

I have seen Firefly, i liked it but not the western part. sorry, alot like it, i just didn't. I did love the sci-fi behind it though. And serenity was epic, really good movie! I really hope the series will come back, maybe give me something to watch.

The Toxic Avenget IV: Citizen Toxie
I'd recommend it if you don't mind cheesy, absurd and completely ridiculous movies

Oh hey, since you liked Pan's Labyrinth (good for you man) check out Guillermo Del Toro's The Devil's backbone. Cool ghost story set in an orphanage.

And of course The Fifth Element. I've watched it many, many, many, many times. Good movie.

Not a movie but damn good anyway, Band of Brothers.

Stalker is worth watching. Based on the novels, later turned into the games.

Yea I second that. It's not an action film so take that in mind when watching that. The games are very loosely based on it.

I also suggest Gattaca, Fifth Element and Blade Runner.

If you want to go really depressive I can suggest ''The Road'' 2009 with Viggo Mortensen. I think its a very good movie, very good actors, interesting plot, very good picture.

i have seen wall-e, i liked it to the extent i can like kid movies at my age. I also fell asleep during blade runner the first time i have watched it, haha, it was also an ok movie, the best reason why it was soo good is because Harrison Ford was awesome. I have also seen the Road, it was the kind of apocolyptic story that i have been missing. I wish it would have came out in theaters in Salt Lake, but it didn't so sadly I had to pirate it.

If you like those you should also check out The Orphanage.  It's another good one with the same tone.  If you want some good scary sci-fi there's always the Alien movies (especially the first two) and The Thing (either version).  Evolution is a pretty good light hearted sci-fi movie. :alien:

Haven't watched that one.  I really like El Orphanato.  Del Toro is one of my favorites, and he wants to make a Lovecraft film (and is working on pre-production artsy things from what I can find) which makes him even greater in my eyes.
