Ok for me I loved this game tremendously, and I love each separate quest line for the Ally's (Dalish elves, redcliffe, Orzammar, Circle of Magi). Here is how I rank each storyline
1. Dalish Elves - For me I am a big fan of Elven myths, I usually play an elf in most RPG's that offer them. But I am also a fan of the supernatural (werewolves, vampires, etc). So being that the Questline involves Elves and Werewolves, I thought that was awesome. I loved the twist in that story line, that the keeper of the Clan, was the cause of Curse. Never had I hated someone so much as I hated that dude in a game. (well Loghain to me is right up there being that I read both books, and I was infuriated he betrayed Cailan.
2. Redcliffe Storyline- The fact that all those people were killed and turned into the undead because Isolode wanted to keep hold of her son who is someone with Magical talent. She wants him trained in secret so he does not get sent to the Circle of Magi, and he gets trained in Blood magic, and catches the attention of a demon who wrecks havoc. I was happy I sacrificed Isolade. Also that questline led me to the Urn of Sacred ashes where you get a ton of background on Andraste.
3. Orzammar - Having to pick between a council member, and the son of the dead king was a nice little intriguing story. But finding out Golems were created with living souls was a twist I found very cool. Too bad Braka was a sadistic bia.
4. Circle of Mages - I did this questline first so I could get wynne. Story was cool exploring the fade and understanding why the Chantry really keeps a tight hold on the mages and the Meleficar (blood Mages). BUT I HATED THE FADE WITH AN UNDYING PASSION. I do not like backtracking in games and that all the fade was, was backtrack backtrack backtrack.
what is everyone else's opinion

Orzammar was my favorite. I hate dwarves, always have. I think it's ridiculous that little people living underground always have to build such ridiculously huge statues and doors. So, I expected that I would hate Orzammar. However... the Broodmother made it all worth it. When I came across the dwarf with the chant... I was absolutely in love with the whole mood of that area.

so far Redcliff, mainly due to the whole Urn part of it as well

My favorite was Orzammar. I love dwarves, there is just something about being underground with the lava and smiths and all of the giant things they build that draws me to like them. The Deep Roads were really the best part of it. I loved the long winding paths, and the best part of it was the broodmother, because the mood was really set to when you reached her. The area gradually became more and m ore tainted, and you found the deranged dwarf who was mumbling that chant, and the fight itself was a ton of fun.
The dalish is probably second on my list, mostly because of the werewolves, and the twist at the end of it really got to me and made me hate the keeper.
The circle of magi would be third, I actually liked the fade and I did not find it difficult, and I found it fun to have to transform into different things, and use them for different fights.
Redcliff is probably last because I did not find anything too surprising about it. When I played I decided to head to the circle and ask for help for the boy (redcliff was the first area I went to), and so I took the good way out. I think it would have been better and more dramatic if we were only given 2 choices instead of 3... either kill the boy or kill the mother to save the boy.
I am still not done with the game but overall, this is probably the best game I have ever played, and cheers to bioware for making it.
