For me it was. Most because I was gonna get it at launch and all the marketing and the launch trailer hyped me.

Nope. It just snuck up on me, which is probably good since I didn't have time to make any preconceived notions. Just played the game (many many times)

Yeah, this was my most anticipated sequel. Now that spot is replaced with ME3. I loved ME1 so much I just couldn't wait for ME2. Now can't wait for ME3.

No. And honestly, the first couple of trailers I saw (ie, "Subject Zero") and rumors of the game being almost completely reworked had me really wary of what ME2 would end up being.
But based on my actual ME2 impressions and experience, ME3 will be.
I think I'd even go so far as to say Mass Effect 2 was good enough for me to dethrone Starflight, a game (series) that had sat - untouchable - at the top of my gaming experience list for 24 years.
If ME3 maintains that same level of quality I fully expect any slight, lingering doubt as to the end of Starflight's reign to be thoroughly put to rest..

Mass Effect is my Star Wars analog to video games.

Ya, ME2 is up there with OoT, God of War 3, MP3 and hoping Galaxy 2 will be amazing.

I have to say that I wasn't mad hot for ME1 so I had no expectations of ME2, but as soon as I started playing I was blown away by what I think is an awesome game! Looking forward to a few othe games (Splinter Cell, the next Elder Scrolls) but I have to say that ME3 now tops that list (although years away I'm afraid!)

Yeah, and playing it for the first time without spoiling everything before getting it (like I did with ME1... not that it was any less awesome) was so frakking awesome that words cannot begin to describe it.
Of course, once the initial euphoria passed I came to see the obvious flaws with it (mostly in a story context... damn, Mac, where did you go wrong?). It's a really good game, but its not what it could have been.

Yes. I was very excited about it, and I had a deal with my bud from work that we'd buy it the day of release (which we did).
However, I find myself a bit apprehensive about what they're going to do with ME3 (although that will not stop me from looking forward to it like crazy!).

My most anticipated game was Halo 2. ME2 was high on the list though unfortunately. After ME2, I dont really look forward to ME3. Right now, all that is on my radar is Halo Reach and SC2 and Cataclysm.

Interestingly enough, the reason I heard of Mass Effect in the first place was because a few of my friends were discussing their excitement for ME2. I mentioned having never played it and they assured me it was right up my alley. I bought ME1, fell in love with it, and then ME2 came out a week later.....but that was a LOOOONG week.

Definitely. Waited for ME2 and constantly checked the forums for any new clips or info on it for around 7-8 months. StarCraft 2 is what I'm waiting for now.

I actually waited about 6 months after I heard about ME1 to buy it, so I could get it cheaper. That was a long wait, but had I known how much I would love and adore it, it would have been an intolerable wait. It was bad enough I had to stop playing for a week right in the middle to go on vacation. Heh, didn't want to leave

I didn't anticipate it nearly as much I'm anticipating KOTOR III. -__-

sums up what i was going to post.
oh, also Fallout 3 was another one i was really pumped for. if New Vegas wasn't a spin-off, it would be up there with Starcraft 2.

Yes. I was so anxious for ME2, especially when I was waiting to go to gamestop at ME2's midnight release, I was actually nervous. I had like a very small anxiety attack lol. I couldn't stop thinking, "Am I ready to play the most amazing game ever?"

I'm just still kicking myself that I was up in New York just before the release of the game and there were posters everywhere on the street with several of the characters and I could have taken one, easily...and didn't. ARRGH

Yes. I'm still waiting for it. The only reason I bought the ME1 was because it seemed so similiar to KOTOR.kglaser wrote...

Yep... and it delivered on everything except for the stupid planetary exploration (I hate resources).

I had no idea KOTOR 3 was in the works. Now, I'm excited!
I love KOTOR. I really must replay it soon. Really one of the greatest games I've ever played.
