I waited until i was able to read the whole comic series to formulate my opnion on why Liara was such a cold hearted b*tch in ME2. I figured, Hell, something big must have happened to make her treat her love interest with such detatchment.... but no. It was some dude she barely started to trust.
Then shepard comes back to her and shes like 'Oh, hey umm missed you a bit... i guess. Here some stuff to help me get revenge for this guy i barely knew and am totally obsessed about.'<_<

Both power and pursuit of revenge change people, no matter how nice they might have been.

That's the way I see it at least.

The ending of the comic certainly does not make sense if you have Liara as LI for your shepard. She felt cold and detached after her 'mission' was completed and is quick to seek another mission of her own.

I don't have the comics and Liara's transformation is pretty radical with no real explanation. I don't really bother with LI much but I figured she was dumping you with the "it's not you, it's me" type rejection. Virtual rejection, the new low.

I hope we have the option of shooting her in the Liara DLC.

Yeah, and after Redemption + or - 2 years have passed. That's some time to change her attitude a bit.

There is one conversation option that many people miss, because it's a lower left convo option, and if you pick the upper left option when that one appears, it won't show up again, so it's easy to miss.

To me, that explains why Liara acted the way she did up to that point, but it doesn't really do much to explain why there isn't more romantic interaction if she was your LI in ME1. Bioware really seems to be pushing ME2 romances over ME1 romances, if you ask me.

Yes, this explains a bit, but still the change was too drastic and there was a lot of question to be answered about her. The comic, unfortunantelly, missed this opportunity of clarification about Liara. Hopefully, the rumored DLC is true and we will get something.

You've been out of action for two years. The comic only explains her getting the body but not the time from giving it to Cerberus to the present. So who knows what could have happened to her between that time. We don't even know how she got her position on Illium.

I'm certain not sure cheating on her with Miranda was the right thing to do...kinda ironic, though, since she literally gave Shep to her.

I don't really care about what happened in some merchandise booklet. The game doesn't explain her behavior and thus Liara's story in ME2 fails. There is no way to defend it.

Liara is an asari. Asari, in general, don't make any sense. Just ask Samara :)

Seriously though, meeting her in mass effect 2 was a complete WTF moment.

I was hoping for some dialog choice like:

"Are you sure we can't go somewhere private for a little mental groping...for old time's sake?

Seriously, the comics, they reveal nothing! (about Liara's character development). Those few lines of easily miss-able dialogue explain a lot more than the comics do.

And Feron? When did they become best buds? Because it sure wasn't in the comics that I read.

The comics also left me wondering when she became the most badass biotic ever, able to take out entire roomful's of heavily armed mercs (including that humongous Salarian). She sure wasn't doing that when I had her on my squad...

My Adept Shepard gave her some lessons xD

Seriously though. I just can't get why she would risk so much going after Feron and the SB - just for Feron...
I mean it went from "hm...I don't trust you, you say you work for him, then turn on him (and so on)" to "OMG, he fought with me, I have to save him. What? Stay with Shepard? Uh...no I got things to do - laters"
I may exaggerate a bit there ^^

The only reason I can see behind her going after Feron is to focus on something, focus on work to not get her hopes up too much that Shepard might come back alive. Maybe I'm a hopeless case of "It has to make sense somehow" ;-)

I was hoping maybe my Shep and Liara had an Asari daughter...

Play ME1 again and get her to level 60, with throw, lift and singularity maxed out. I stopped taknig her because she wasmaknig the fights too easy.

I stand corrected.  That kinda sounds like fun, actually...

Well, biotics are very powerful in ME1, especially when they're maxed out (obviously^^). As an Adept myself it was nice throwing people back and forth with Liara :-)

If they would have extended the comic to 10 parts and started explaining a bit there might have been something that makes sense. so....

ok, the only part making sense is that Feron sacrifices himself. Maybe Liara just doesn't want to loose someone else... whatever i just don't really get story of the comic.....

AHA, you want it to make sense, too. Maybe that is the mistake we make here... ;-)

Seriously though, they've got some explaining to do in (possible Liara DLC and/or) ME3...

Yeah, finding sense is quite difficult, i have to admit...

But for DLC and ME3: I've got something to worry about again.... ^^' They better try to explain it right from the start or i'll see a lot of misunderstanding coming...

I have only two plot problems with ME2 Liara

2 years... and Liara is one of the most important information brokers on Illium...how?

TIMs lie makes no sense to me (Liara is working for the SB)
- easy to see through...Liara never tried to conceal the fact that she wants to kill the SB
- TIMs motivation
...no ME1 squadmates/old friends?
he has no problems with Garrus or Tali
...no romantic distraction?
not every Shepard romanced Liara, and he recruited Kelly (who is rather flirty^_^)
...Liara is not trustworthy?
Liara hates the SB. TIM and the SB are no friends
She has no problems with Cerberus (unlike the quarians or Ashley/Kaidan)

Right, Barquiel. In those cases the game lacks a lot of information (maybe i should say plot hole?)

And the comics don't even explain the actual relationship between Liara and TIM.

I agree...Redemption#4 was rather disappointing.
