I look forward to reading more about your ideas about Kelly's history.GothamLord wrote...
When I'm not at work and on my mobile I can post more detailed. Short verison has her as a spy on the citadel before the events of ME1. She's the faceless Cerberus Op in the opening scene of ME2. And I've worked a connection with Paul Grayson from the novels.

May be she is TIM's relative? Daughter? Niece? Godchild?

TIM: Shepard... I wanted to talk to you about Kelly.
Shepard: I already know about the plan of planting her here as a spy on the Normandy. She told me after the attack on the Collector Base.
TIM: No, its more than that. First I'm grateful that you were able to rescue her. I also wanted to tell you to make sure you treated her right. Be good to her.
Shepard: What? Are you? ... Wait...Are you trying to tell me shes your daughter??
TIM: Not at all. Have you seen the way I drink and smoke?? I killed off any ability I could have to have kids long ago. Shes my mother Shepard.
Shepard: ........Wait wha??
TIM: And if you continue down this path and get married.. I'll be your son. ...
Shepard: .....................
TIM: ... Daddy

It should be like this,
TIM: No Shepard, I am your Son.
Shepard: No...Nooooo!!

winning at this point.
Hello, my current official name is Kelly Chambers. It’s not my birth name, and it will probably not be the last one I use, or the one I die with (if I’m lucky). It works for now though and suits its purpose. Seeing as whom my Uncle is, and who I work for I normally change it every assignment I get. My last long term assignment before the Normandy SR-2 had me under the name of Samantha Burkett on the Citadel. Cerberus was able to pull strings, and I was assigned as a psychologist to the Alliance stationed personnel as a civilian medical employee despite my young age. Being a woman and young would of course be a useful tool in easing troubled soldiers minds, particularly higher ranking brass that would filter through my office. My primary target during my time on the Citadel became Rear Admiral Kahoku after it was discovered he had gone to the Shadow Broker for information on Cerberus. It’s a shame that things had to end the way they did with Kahoku. He left behind a wife and three children. It’s a pity that there was no chance to have turned him towards the Cerberus cause.
One of my other Cerberus contacts on the Citadel during this time was Paul Grayson. About the only real sense of family I had there too. Paul was a decent enough fellow outside of the obvious red sand addiction he seemed to have developed towards the end of my assignment there. I think a lot of it had to do with Yandoa. I cant even begin to fathom the horrors he’s endured with his sabotage missions. The Illusive Man had him permanently assigned to Gillian (a result of the Yandoa incident) and the Ascension project too but that wasn’t a 24/356 routine. There was another person with her for that. For the time on the Citadel his cover was a “private contractor” for Alliance communication equipment. It served as a means to maintain Cerberus bugging equipment and monitor regular radio communications. I know Paul intercepted a list of files that Shepard sent regarding the Nepheron incident. False information was inserted back into the files and released to the Alliance. Corporal Toombs may prove to be problematic later down the line. He doesn’t seem totally stable. That’s not my division though.
After Shepard’s escape from the Citadel when the original Normandy was put on lockdown, the Illusive Man issued a full evacuation of all Cerberus personnel. With the attach that followed shortly thereafter I can understand why the alert was issued. I’m sure I would be dead today if Paul and I had not left when we did. Paul despite his red sand issues is still an incredible pilot. He managed to slip out of the area despite the incoming Geth ships we picked up on the ships sensors coming inbound. I don’t think they even knew we were there when he passed by them. I had a few minor assignments in between the events of the Citadel attack and the time of Shepard’s death. Nothing overly note worthy. Though the brief time on Omega working as a dancer, I have to admit was rather fun. I still have the outfit. After Shepard’s body was recovered and it was transferred to Miranda Lawson to head the Lazarus Project I was transferred to assignment with my uncle at Station 51. Outside of regular paperwork duties my main objective was issued to study Shepard and his history. For the two years of the Lazarus Project I studied every available video report, audio file, and history data on the Commander. Once the Normandy SR2 was complete and Shepard was to be resurrected I would be placed onboard as Counselor and Yeoman. I also came up with the Kelly Chambers name during my preparation, as well as the back history and my fictional family. A lot of the college stories were true though, minus a few facts here and there. Its always easier to put a spin on the truth, rather than try and make up complete lies from scratch.
Paul decided to go rogue while I was at Station 51. My uncle was not happy with the whole mess…The Migrant Fleet, Gillian, Kahlee Sanders. I cant say I blame Paul. In fact I kind of sympathize with him on the whole Gillian thing. She was his adoptive daughter; a child still, and she was treated like a lab rat. I know WHY the project was necessary but it still makes me sad. I just wish he had gone about it different too with the whole rogue thing, or at least not threatened my uncle there at the end. The amount of information that Paul has from working with so much communication interception is down right staggering. The damage that Cerberus could suffer from what he has could cripple the organization beyond recovery. The fact that he looked like he was kicking the red sand problem made me smile but knowing what my Uncle is capable of scares me for what might happen to him if they catch him. Paul threatened to harm Cerberus, that basically signed his death warrant. I don’t think even I could dissuade the Illusive Man from the wrath that would follow. I cant obviously send straight up communications to Paul, but I know several of his encryption codes. Maybe I can atleast keep him one step ahead.
Thats all I have so far

The language is a bit dry, but I understand it's just a raw version. I like the way you connected second book to the story and keep niece idea. You know it actually looks quite believable. Looking forward to the whole work!
