I wonder why Bioware just didn't make her a full blown romance option. It seems that they were going to do it, but half way just desided to make her a "Easter egg".

In the Gabby/Donally thread they mentioned Donally was originally going to be a 'light romance' option; due to Budget Issues however, that got the chop. My money is on Kelly being one that somehow survived.

Cypher0020 wrote...

what do you mean Kelly could be a more innocent Shepard? :)

Well depending how you play Shepard, he/she is very open and accomidating to aliens and friendly. In that sense Kelly is like Shepard, but without the combat training or seeing what Shepard has seen. (Then again, Phychologists can meet some people that make Jack look normal by comparison, and we have no idea where Kelly was in her career as a psychologist before she was working for Cerberus)

Part of me wonders if Kelly is what my shepard could have been, before Mindoir and Akuze (and of course, ME1)

Donally was set for that too? Dammit! I love that scottish engineer :) I'd say he and Gabby would do well... but aren't they cousins...??

Ah so Kelly would represent a noncombat Shep.... def right about the pre career choices.... geez... another thing that my Shep hates- never knowing a non bloody lifestyle...

I never want to see Kelly fire a gun in ME3

It's why he has a Scottish accent. I can't find the thread now, but one of the Dev's said words to the effect of 'My wife loves the scottish accent so I made him scottish. Then the 'light romances' got the chop and someone picked up on the Scotty thing in voice recording. Held my head in my hands and went 'Sure, why not?''

So, yes. Also,  the cousins thing varies from country to country. In Japan and England for example it's perfectly legal to hook up with cousins (and in several romance orientated visual novels it's not unusual for a cousin to be a potential LI) but while I don't know about it's portrayal in Japan, I know in england it's (very) rare even in the countryside, and if you ever see it in the media, it's usually played for laughs.

Oh Come on!  Kelly firing off an SMG would be HOT!  especially if it was in a LI specific cutscene where something happens to Shepard  and whatever character is the LI  shows up to to pull 'em out of the fire.

"Get the hell off of the Commander!   He's/She's mine!"

I hope there is a catfight option  and one that Kelly has the ability to win somehow.   That scene alone would give me a reason to go back to ME1 again for a run through where I dont nuke Ashley.

But Kaidan has cool looking armor. More than enough reason to keep him around.

Ashley has a big family, hence her dying is something that is easier dealt with than say a family where she was an only child. Her family's name doesnt have the greatest reputation. Her sacrifice atleast gives her family a chance to redeem itself compared to her grandfather and father. Plus I trust Ashley to guard the bomb to go off without a hitch more than I do Kaiden.

Boredom is a emotional response. Geth don't experience emotion. Sorry can't buy it.

And as for all we know Kaidan might be an only child. He certainly mentions no siblings.

Me, I honestly don't really care for either of them. It's a hard decesion for me because I really have no incentives to hold onto either. If I had to leave both I wouldn't be especially bothered.

Speaking of those two actually, is it just me or is there a hint of glee if you tell Kelly there was nothing going on/it's in the past between you and X after Horizon? (assuming you saved the potential LI in ME1 of course)

What do you consider light about the romance with Kelly. The only difference to me is Shepard doesn't have a cut-scene that consummates the relationship, but Kelly was a captive of the Collectors at that moment. I thoroughly enjoyed how the romance developed. The only thing that I thought it was lacking was the dinner scene. They created a moment that was so full of promise and failed to execute on it.

OMG, guys, if BioWare makes the scene in ME3 where Kelly has to save Shepard's ass somehow and use a gun or a blade (just imagine how freaking sexy she would be with a sword!!!) or martial arts in the process - I will die a happy person. :-D

And Kelly+Shepard love expansion is a must in ME3!
I also have this idea that Kelly secretly works for Alliance and is Shepard's guarding angel. <3

I second that! though I can't exactly picture Kelly with a weapon...(tries to picture Kelly with a Cain Launcher)

Of course you cant picture her with a weapon, because shes a spy.   It means shes doing her job right.  Posted Image

Frightening for the person that shes ripping apart yes.  Amusing and strangely satisfying watching her doing it from the sidelines.

Kelly doesn't really strike me as a fighter; she seems to be very much more dialogue orientated, that she'd try and talk her way through things, instead of shooting things. Besides, that's what Shepard is for. :P

I think all Cerberus agents undergo a series of defence oriented technique (whether martial arts or weapons based), so I won't be surprised if Ms. Chambers knows some kickass moves to take care of herself in certain situations.
I love the idea of Kelly saving Shepard and showing us she, as well as Shepard, eager to defend the person she trully cares about and loves. It can be something we would never expected, thus making the scene even more interesting and satisfying for those who romanced her. ;)
