They should replace female Shepard's renegade dialogue.

It's pretty funny how you're saying I lack proper education on biology when the subject we're dealing with is a fictional organism from a video game. I understand it's just your petty attempt at a ad-hominem, but still, to address your point. A mono-gendered organism is not a female. Every organism on the planet that is female has a male counterpart. Since you want to base this argument on contemporary biology(even though we're talking about a fictional alien), you must accept that standard as well.

Mono gendered still means there is one gender.  Since they all have the mommy bags and one would assume lack wedding tackle, it's reasonable to assume that one gender is female.

Asexual would mean without gender.  A protozoa is asexual, not mono-gendered.

Being that Asari have also referred to themselves as "fathers" I don't think Asari gender can be categorized as either male or female.  The "mommy bags" and genetalia shape are superficial as the Asari cannot possibly be related to any earth species.
Once again, convergent evolution.

I'll agree about protozoa though.  There is a distinction since Asari still need other species to reproduce.  They do not need males to reproduce though so I don't think their gender can really be classified as female or male.

Some protozoa ARE bi-gendered by the by.

Good lord man! Does nothing enter that brain of yours?!?
It. Does. Not. Matter. If. It. Is. Fictional. BioWare gave us the information that the Asari are mono-gendered. I have not created a massive theory on nothing, it's pretty goddamn simple for someone with a few brain cells.

Haha, maybe you have some sort of new information no one else does, but how do you explain the all-female species of lizards in the world that reproduce via Parthenogenesis?

Species that reproduce via Parthenogenesis are not really mono-gendered.  They carry the sex chromosomes of both genders so it would be more appropriate to call them hermaphrodites.
Asari are mono-gendered but that doesn't make them female.  Even species that do reproduce via parthenogenesis still have males.

Alright, now that things have calmed down a bit here, let me comment on some of the objections which have been brought up.

Let me say that female Shepard may very well be skilled in everything but the fact remains that she is a woman and that that will cause those around her to pre-judge and possibly underestimate her. It's not that I am sexist, it's just that we should expect sexism from people, especially aliens that come from patriarchal societies such as Batarians and Turians.
Female Shepard may be "girl tough" but it's difficult to take a woman head butting a Krogan very seriously. There are just some very prevalent limits to human strength which are more pronounced amongst the female gender, it's simple biology.

Most women realize they're not as physically strong as men and therefore utilize their natural talents of seduction to get their way. It's not as if this isn't already seen in the game. Aria mentions turning Patriarch's men against him with the art of seduction, so why couldn't a female Shepard do the same thing?

Anybody want some?

Well this thread is getting larger by the minute, we could use all the help we can get. So yeah, thanks.

They refer to themselves as fathers in a way that you would refer to women as intimidating.

They even call themselves maidens, matriarchs, and such.  It's very clear which side of the fence they are for the subject.

And convergent evolution assumes that all things are equal, when in reality they are almost never.  A few cactus are never going to counter that.

Goddamn, you really are a troll. Anyways, I have wasted enough of my time talking to you.

Scientists have already stated that to call them hermaphrodites is inaccurate, I repeat, inaccurate.

Men genetically have the upperhand when it comes to strength but a skilled fighter wins the day, not who has the biggest muscles. And women can build up their strength so they can be just as strong as men.

And women can be more agile, do you really think you have time to catch Shepard and hit her weak spots, when she's been trained to block and avoid these attacks?

There be no women in the police force if they didn't have the skill and strength to look after themselves, we've already proven to them that we're capable, but you don't seem to have gotten the memo. We shouldn't have to prove it to every guy that we can be strong.

Plus, it's been proven that females have a higher pain threshold so that makes us excellent fighters.

Women be better off if you avoid women altogether. You obviously don't know how to respect and treat a women properly.

What is this nonsense about women being more agile?  You like to make up facts.  Ever notice in professional running events that they have seperate divisions for both men and women and that the men always finish faster?

A cop doesn't need to be in peak physical condition to do his/her job.

Running is strength based in the legs.  I'm talking gymnatics type stuff.  It's easier for women avoid punches and to kick someone in their face.   I did tae-kwon-do, and it was a mixture of male and females.  We might not punch as hard but we can move faster and use your strength against you and put you in a hold.

They need to be skilled to patrol drunken weekend nights, there's plenty of aggressive guys who would take a punch at a policewomen.  I don't see fat police people patrolling those shift, but there is a mixture of male and females.

I said it is more appropriate to call them hermaphrodites than mono-gendered due to the existence of multiple sex chromosomes, I did not say they were hermaphrodites, only that saying they're mono-gendered is even more inaccurate as even species which can reproduce via parthenogenesis still have males amongst their species.

Asari have no males, their gender is neither male nor female regardless of what cultural terms they use to refer to themselves as.

Running is about endurance too, gymnastics and tae-kwon-do are all just for show.  They don't serve any real purpose when it comes to actually defending yourself.

No more than any simple aerobic exercise. As far as learning to defend yourself, Tae-Kwon-Do is a poor choice.
