The great Quarian squad mate debate of 2010

Allright, that may be a little extreme, but you get my point.

1. Reegar is a Soldier, he might seem a bit bland in the class field despite being an awsome person.
2. Tali has been through all the games so far and got a romance, might as well be in three too.
3. If we ditch Tali the Talimancers will kill us all.

Now, Daro'Xen, that I could support, but I'd still rather have Tali.

I like Tali. I'd like a male quarian for a change and Kal'Reegar is cool, but I'd miss Tali.
We'll not get two of a species as squadmates. Given Tali's popularity I'll wager BW will keep her as squadmate but that brings us back to the question as to how they'll resolve the dilemma of the suicide mission. BW really shot themselves in the foot with this. Doesn't make sense to keep some of the characters despite the possibility that they actually died in ME2.
So I'm afraid the ME2 survivors will only turn up as NPC, this way you can still keep the romance going or something.
So keep Reegar coming! Or a new quarian, I don't really care. As long as he's an interesting character I'm satisfied.
Edit: about the Tali fan debate: I don't think BW cares all that much if the Tali fans go berserker. They want to sell as many copies as possible. Don't tell me the Tali fans won't play the game if she's not a squadmate...come on! Give Tali one tiny scene and people will want to see it. Hell, I was sad to hear that Kaidan wouldn't be in ME 2 as a squadmate but I bought the game anyway and enjoyed it a lot. 90% of those who bought the first two games will buy the third as well. So all BW needs to be concerned about is how to attract new people.
The only thing that might drive the fans away is having Shepard replaced.

Slightly off-topic, but I think the interrupt system was created specifically for that one part in her loyalty mission. Have you hugged a quarian today?

Yeah, gotta hug those quarians.Miss Yuna of Atlanta wrote...

"Your ship name's Qwib-Qwib? Ah, come here." *Hug* "No need to involve the greatest hero of your species into your pathetic political ploys now, besides, have I told you about Berserker? I think you're gonna like it."
"Ah, you're a bit crazy, failed your pilgrimage, saw a bunch of Collectors take away those humans?" *Hug*
"Hey, I know you're disappointed about the way the galaxy treats quarians, but you really shouldn't try to brainwash the geth" *Hug* "I mean, you're the only competent and honest admiral on the board, you'll go far, Daro. Hey, how about you discuss things with Legion? I'm sure you can find a way to make peace."
"Aww, is that big mean elcor ruining your business and chance to get off this rock?" *Hug*
"A volus accusing you of stealing his chit and a racist cop agreeing with him?" *
I demand a seperate hug-a-quarian button for ME3.

Kal'Reegar for sure, since he's the only Quarian who isn't a whiny ****.

Tali has been around since the begining. Also she and garrus where the only squad mates to trust Shepard unquestioningly after finding out his relation to cerberus.
I will not buy the game if Tali is gone.

I don't get why people say she's gimped. Even on my vanguard/insanity playthrough, explosive drone and her geth shotty are quite formidable for me. Still takes a lil micromanaging to keep her up, but tbh most squaddies are like that, minus grunt. Imo, anyway.
she's certainly not THE most useful squaddie, but imo she's a far cry from useless.
If I have to buy dlc to improve her combat ability she's gimped as far as I'm concerned. Before I found Spectre weapons in ME1 she held her own which was a great addition to her being a strong, capable non-****y female ally which I feel she isn't in ME2. She's still not ****y, but she took Liara's damsel role which turned me off. I used Tali, Ashley, and Garrus mostly throughout the many playthroughs I've done because those were the people I felt pretty much had my back. Wrex is (note I said "is" and not "was") great, but I just never really used him. Don't have any particular reason really. He's great to talk to, but I don't know.

1. Yes, the variety is not there. He would have the same skills as if you played through as a soldier. Zaeed, Garrus, Grunt already fill this role. Of course, you can get all three of them killed, so who knows....
2. Agreed. Unless you get her killed in the suicide mission, that is. I don't know that Kal would want to join you if you got Tali killed.
3. A fair point. I wouldn't consider myself a Talimancer (what are the eligibility criteria if someone wants to sign up for this dubious honour regardless?), but she is adorable. Sweet, naive, awkward. It is just a game, however. I get that.

I honestly don't get what people see in Reegar, he's a ****** who can't keep his squad together, nor manage to fight off the geth when he's got a rocket launcher with infinite ammo. Sorry man, being voiced by Adam Baldwin only gets you so far.

I like Tali well enough, but honestly I never ever use her in combat. I'm 99% adept class so could always use more big guns. If I absolutely had to choose, I'll take Reeger. I'd rather learn more about his character than Tali. What's left for Tali if she isn't a LI? I'm feeling pretty meh about her friendship path.

I didn't say she had to have the shotty. Any shotty seems to work just fine.

Tali won't be replaced in ME3. It would reflect VERY badly in the sales if Bioware made the decision to ax Tali. The people who love her most likely wouldn't buy the game if she wasn't part of your squad.
I'd like Kal'Reegar to be back in a somewhat major role, though, mainly because of Adam Baldwin
thye wont Ax her, but most likely not a squad member. She needs to be on the admiralty board so she can convince the Quarians to help in the fight against the Reapers.
I'm thinking, spec ops (Quarian specialty) mission to go inside a reaper and blow it up!
In which, we will get Kal'regar as the official squadmate.

I really don't know why it was ever a good idea to choose a member of a race that could risk a severe deadly infection with one puncture to the suit in the middle of a warzone. Tali would have made a lot more sense as just the ship's engineer *hides under desk*
Well, to be fair, that isn't the case, and Tali mentions that that sort of thing is more a nuisance than anything.
Still, your point is relatively valid. Personally I only care about dialogue.

Not gonna lie, it would seem silly to have a twenty-something year old as an ADMIRAL. The line in the game that refers to recommendations seems to be more an example of the chaos of the migrant fleet than anything.
She'd do well as a contact/liason onboard the normandy, though. And she wouldn't have to be a squaddie to do that.

Reegar's no ******. He can't control where they send him or what the higher-ups decide. He told you he's just a soldier. When they send him on a stupid mission he does the best he can with their stupid decisions.
He's got a good head on his shoulders. He knows immediately that a war with the geth is an unwise move. I like him.

Quarian's are all trash anyways I don't want to see any. In fact it would be cool if you had some mission to wipe out the flotilla and get rid of those stupid space gypsys forever. Sadly Bioware is probably gonna go with fan boys and stick one of those stinky Quarians in the squad.
This is not a biased opinion, clearly.
