Hi

Is it possible to make the skills of 2h weapons or shieldfight usable
when using ONLY a 1h sword?

I would prefer a new skilltree (i.e. faster, weaker, but higher crit chance),
but I know that this would be very hard.

Any ideas?

EDIT:

After hours of search here is a mod that at least makes the dual wield/shield techniques avaiable with one sword:

It's definitely possible, and if I could get my head wrapped around creating new powers and such, I would have done it already.

A problem would also be the newly needed animations.
The solution I found is currently enough.

But it would be awesome if somebody would make a new skilltree (already played through the game with all three styles ^^).

There are plenty of animations that, in my opinion, would suffice. Their sound effects might need to be altered in some cases, which is where it gets more advanced. I can think of several off the top of my head that would be great.

A problem I had when making my Arcane Warrior - Plus mod was that a lot of animations wouldn't play unless I had certain items equipped (ie the dual-wield animations wouldn't play unless I had dual-weapons, shield animations wouldn't work unless I had a shield, I didn't check the 2h weapon animations though). That's where the idea for the Energies came from, it was a work-around to get the animations working whilst still seemingly only using a 1h weapon.

One way you could do it is very similar to the way I'm handling it in the next version of Arcane Arts I'm working on with the Arcane Warrior.

There are three attack animations I know of that can be used with just a one-handed sword in the mainhand; the kick from Below the Belt, the stab from Deadly Strike, and the four swing attack from Assault.

The fourth (first) ability could be a modal/maintained one which the other attacks require to be active. You could then set the modal ability to require a one-handed weapon in it's conditions, and set it's script up so that it unequips whatever you may have in the offhand before locking the character's equipment.
