I have a hard time believing there will be any significant consequences. At most I think there will probably be a really awkward break-up scene with your ME1 romance, and that's it.

My guess it will probably be like Ash/Kaiden vs. Liara conflict from the first game. They'll both come to you, and ask who you want to be with. You choose one and the other gets pissy, and then its back to normal.

Alternately, you can suggest a threesome. On topic though, I believe ME2 gives us a good idea of what to expect; a strongly worded email.

Also I am sure it has been confirmed that there will be a confrontation. Really the one I am most curious about is between Ashley and Miranda, Alliance Soldier vs Cerberus Operative.

I kind of like the idea of Liara or Ash telling you you now have a 2 year old baby, right after they find out you moved on. That would kind of be horrifying to find out if you've ditched them for someone else. The problem with that is that with Kaiden, something like that can't happen. Also, it'd be odd that they never once tried to tell you.

Another idea I had is that your ex will die in battle due to deep depression from losing you. Kind of like how people died on the Suicide Mission if they weren't loyal. Or they'll leave your crew after finding out.

"F U, it was just a one night stand. I've moved on and I have more important stuff to do"

It should have negative consequences only if you want to get back with your ME1 LI (which nobody that "cheated" actually wants)

Liara strikes me as a person who will always love Shepard no matter who he chooses or what he does. But I also think she has the potential to be completely pissed off if you cheat on her. So I think her confrontation could go either way.



Ashley will probably be pissed off no matter what.



Kaiden will just accept it, he doesn't seem like the type of person to make a scene.

I have to admit, I find it rather difficult picturing Ash going into a deep depression.

Going off the deep end end and grabbing a sniper  rifle, yes. Depression, no.

Ash/Kaiden, yes. But Liara was pretty honest about what she felt, she still obviously cares for Shepard when you ask her about her troubles.

Well, on a possibly related note, my FemShep ended up with Kelly, and I notice the picture of Liara is still 'face up' on the desk. Now what does that mean Bioware? Kelley is only a friend? Friend's with 'benefits' are okay?

What are the consequences for not cheating, BTW?
I mean, if you cheat, there will be consequences, but those consequences could be good, no?
You move onto a better suited relationship, and/or so does your fomer LI?

Heck, what if you are faithful, but your ME1 LI dumps you?  You get the 'Dear Shepard' email?
Liara is a bit too obsessed with finding Feron if you ask me. And she is very young still, for making any sort of commitment, like dating a 17 year old, who happens to be 70 years or so your senior.

back on topic now, i completely agree.  Liara took the romace much more serious and was trying to save you from the shadow broker while kaiden/ashley hate you when the learn of your ties to cerberus.
