Nope. Kaiden says the night in Ilos meant everything to him which puzzled the CRAP out of me because my character did not sleep with him.

I had no IDEA what he was talking about until someone explained how the birds and the bees worked in ME1.

acting like you don't remember would have been a cool dialogue option

Bieng that Ashley's not a fan of aliens, sparks are going to fly.

Considerable trepidation: Indeed.

Eh.  I got the impression from Liara that things were basically over.  Or at least, even if she and Shepard still had feelings for each other, they'd moved on with their lives and their respective situations made any continuing relationship of that type highly impractical at best, and more likely almost impossible.  Beyond that, neither Liara or Shepard were really the same people they were at the end of ME1.  Too much had happened to both of them in the intervening time, and things had changed.

So I didn't really feel that following a "new" romance in ME2 was cheating.  Heck, marriage is considered over at "until death do you part", and Shepard certainly had that one covered. :pinched:

While there's a certain attraction to holding on to the ME1 romance through ME2, assuming the characters were acting as adults, I think they'd be hard pressed to really hold it against each other if one or both moved on before or during ME2.  Sometimes life just takes people in different directions, and what could have been, isn't.

It happens.

What would I like to see? You get nothing for cheating. Neither LI.

What will probably happen? Confrontation scene with LI deconfliction

I really hate to say it, but all 3 ME Li's had it coming. Kaiden and Ash essentially call it off right there, not to mention the fact that they get so ticked at you for not keeping in touch with them because YOU WERE DEAD.

Liara.. isn't Liara anymore. She's Benezia reincarnate. Her intentions might've been good, but we all know where the road that's paved out of them ultimately ends up.

Sadly, I can't ever bring myself to stay "loyal" to them. Even with Femshep's mostly terrible romances. If it comes down to a choice in ME3, or there's a fight where I have to back one of them, The Li from ME2 is going to get my support.

It's probably just going to be a confrontation scene where you have to pick one like there was in ME1.

The one thing that I would really like them to do is you get to choose a reason WHY you pick who you pick instead of just a choice and Shepard fills in the blanks with one reasoning that's the same for everybody. Unlikely to happen, however, as they'd have to write a new set of them for every possible pair of conflicting LIs.

Of course, my canon Shepard has a romanceless ME1 so I won't get such a scene for him anyway so it's not that bad.

I hear having a singularity cast on your balls is at first incredibly pleasurable, then incredibly painful. :o

While I really hate seeing what they did with Liara:(, I still prefer ALL THREE ME1 LI's to the ME2 options for FemShep.  Thane gets a pass, but the other two?  Jacob's was horrendus.  Garrus seemed wildly out of character, or at least with the Garrus I'd created in my head.  In the end he was kind of cute and nervous but I really didn't like the way his romance was handled.

Personally, staying faithful to Kaidan and hoping for the best.

I'd put money on that.

I'd love for them to have Shepard elaborate at least a little bit on why s/he chose the ME2 LI or possibly try and explain to the one they hooked up with in ME2 why s/he is choosing not to stay with them and go back to the ME1 LI or possibly move on to any LI that will potentially be in ME3.

And it's not cheating if you're DEAD!

(I have 2 no-ME1 romance chars, so no 'tough choices' there, but I'll savor the drama on my adept who moved on after Horizon.)

Oh man, after what she did on Horizon, Ash is soooooooooooo cheatable. Her E-MAIL as an excuse didn't make it better. I cheated her with Miranda on my main Shepard campaign without thinking twice. Consequences? Bring it on, Miranda will crush her like she's nothing. Liara however with other Shepard I did not. Shepard believes there's a very good reason she didn't come to the suicide mission with him and he trusts her.

Personally I'd hate conflict. I'd like to think everyone is mature, grown professionals and the Normandy isn't high school. But I am pretty sure that *is* what is going to happen.

I'd prefer that if you had a ME2 LI, your MI1 LI is no longer available as a romance. They just see you with your new dude/dudette, and don't give a frog because it has been 2 years, they have moved on, and assume you have too. However, if you didn't hook up with anyone, them being more aggresive in their pursuit, trying to make up for what they did to you in Horizon, or making up for the Asari planet - seems plausible.

Don't punish a ME1 LI or a player because a player wanted to move on. But don't penalize those who said they'd stick with them. Just don't cheapen it by cheap histrionics and catfights is my hope.

WAIT.,

I have a better idea.

If you hooked up with someone else in ME2, your ME1 interest should return and start banging someone in your pary.

So you "cheated" on Ashley with Tali, watch as she has crazy smecks with Thane in the engine room. So you cheated with Kaidan with Garrus, watch him find his own happiness with Miranda. You dumped Liara for Miranda? No matter, she is shagging Jacob, Jack *and* Mordin.

Everyone is happy!!!

Let the rest of my crew also get some action.

If Ashley didn't want Shepard to "cheat" she shouldn't have shunned him back on Horizon; I mean, I had Miranda in my group, it should have been painfully obvious that Shepard was eventually going to tear that up. Not to mention he even went through the trouble of keeping a picture of her after being dead for two years...then she apologies through email? It felt a little juvenile imho. I wouldn't question the guy that saved the galaxy & returned from the dead to do it all over again.

Liara goes Yandere!

Quick, someone shop this face onto her.

I admit, I have no trouble crushing Ashley or Kaidan's heart, but I just can't do that to Liara. She's too sweet, and look at all the **** she goes through for you. (I'm also planning to use that 'loyal' save file to go for Samara and Kelly)

Why do people think you don't have sex with Kelly? Just because you don't get Paramour? You don't get it for Renegade sexing Jack, either. That's not what Paramour means.

(man, the only bisexual romance that's actually IN the second game is the only one that is not actually a romance. Nice, Bioware. Thanks for that.)

heh.

Kaidan also said that he loved you in the confrontation on Horizon, which implies to me that he considered it more than a one night stand.
