See - this is how it works: Consumer doesn't like game, for whatever reason, gets to complain about it if they wish and/or choose not to continue supporting said company responsible for bad consumer experience.

I don't care if you didn't have any problems.  I'm speaking for me, not you.  Although that concept will probably be lost on you, I'm sure.

Not most important thing in the world, no. It's about as important as the $/£ and time spent on it - and, correct me if I'm mistaken, but I'd have thought this was precisely the place to voice our displeasure about our experiences with this game in particular, not to complain about other, certainly more important issues like the national debt or religious intolerance, or child abuse, or... Only an insane person could be confused about this.  Oh, right.

Shove your hyperbole where the sun don't shine. I'm exercising my right to reply. Like it or not.

Oh blah blah blah, what a boring fanboy.

See? It's all very sweet really. Because I actually happen to like the games and I haven't found an endless list of things to slag off and I actually did vote for the company because I happen to think it is a good game, regardless of the bugs - which I accept that there are - that makes me a fanboy does it?
So because I don't agree with the purple-cheeked whingers because my approach to, and experience of, the game is different from theirs, that makes me a fanboy does it?
because I take the opposite side to you?
Yes?
Because I don't agree?
I do entirely accept it has bugs as it happens, but nevertheless - fundamentally - it is an excellent game.
Oh yeah and I actually happen to like the expansion pack as well.
Gosh, go figure.

I have a theory about you, if you'll indulge me. Well, I'm going to end up typing it out anyway, so the joke's on you. You can accept glitches and bugs to an extent, but to accept such a gross amount would be considered by most as denial. From what I can tell, you obviously don't know the value of a dollar. You may or may not have purchased this game yourself, and you may or may not hold a job. Either way, something didn't click because if you've paid as much as you did for the expansion and game, you'd be outraged to see how many things are wrong with it. A man, or woman, would want to get their money's worth, yes? As a working man who barely lives paycheck to paycheck while doing other things for money on the side, I'm pretty pissed off to see how lazily Bioware handles situations. To not feel that way would be considered denial, and that would result from not knowing the value of a dollar. How about that for you? Am I in the ballpark with this?

What makes you a fanboy is insulting other posters for their legitimate complaints, fool.

Why do fanboys always say that? 'WTF I'M A FANBOY BCUZ I DON'T AGREE WIT YOUZ?!' No, moron. That is not what makes you a fanboy. Try and exercise your powers of comprehension, please, if you have any.

I love you all and it's been great fun.

I stand by what I said though - I like it and I voted for them.

Fundamentally it's an excellent game, that's why I voted. Sorry but there you go.

I don't care about your theories,

You're more than welcome to reply, same as me - that's the joy of a forum.

Anyway, thanks again for some interesting replies and for a really quite invigorating and frank exchange of views, it's been good - not a proper flame war like in the old days, but not too bad nevertheless.

It could turn into a proper flame war if you grew some balls and continued it. Nothing can thrive without a bit of love and attention. The onus is on you, pal ;)

I was wondering which one of you would be the first to come back with that...

...see the thing is, having an argument over the internet may make you feel like more of a man, but for me - this one has just kinda passed the time, and now I'm done - it's pointless anyway.

Aw, you are as boring as I thought. Stop flip-flopping, will you? One minute you love it, the next you hate it. And yes, I do love feeling like a man, that's why I'm so reluctant to shave my armpits like all them other real womenz [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie]

Oh, and I see the humour of my previous post was lost on you. So sad :crying:

Hello Everyone! I'm not sure that this is the right place, but if someone is interested then i guess it is :D I am selling an opened copy, which is still in mint condition, of Dragon Age: Origins (THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION). It's on eBay & the auction is over at 12pm tomorrow. The price is extremely low & all the contents are still Like New. The code's have been used, yet as many of you know, they are not needed to enjoy the game extensively. Heres a link below to my ebay auction for the collector's edition of this game (current bid is at the low price of $26.00, opposed to $70.00 for brand new). Cheers Everyone!

Why should we "drop it"? The game is broken for us. We paid for it, so we have a right to complain.

If you're not having any problems, great, but why can't you at least empathise with those who do? How would you feel if the game wasn't working for you or became impossible to finish and some **** told you to stop complaining?

If my refrigerator doesn't work properly, but yours does (or, more aptly, that you don't mind it not working properly), does that mean that I shouldn't complain?

Think about that for a moment. If you're capable. If you're autistic, however, and are unable to empathise with other people then I apologise and fully understand why you just seem to be arrogantly self-centred and selfishly unsympathetic towards others.

Agreed! Theres definitly more important issues out there & while it's understandable that some us to take some time to relax, by playing a game, we would be wise to keep the majority of our focus on these issues. For those who remain watchful & have done so for a while, you know that world tensions are rising rapidly & global corruption is at it's height. These issues will not just be brushed off, not like they have been in the past, because very soon life altering events, unlike any that have been witnessed before, will unfold & force much of mankind, regardless of choice, to disregard games & other leisurly activities. So it's best to prepare for that now, or you can continue walking in the darkness of ignorance & wait for these events & be unprepared when they come to pass. Some know beyond doubt what is near, some don't, yet it's those who do know & don't do anything that will be held accountable, as well as though who know its a possibility but never decide to seek the truth out. That's my two cents, & if only one person would read it & make the choice to look into the NWO or God's Prophetic Word (Biblically), then that person may begin their journey to preparation, a journey that needs to be started sooner than later! Have a good day everyone!

I've only complained once, commented once that the game is not worthy of a GotY as is (and personally don't think it's the best game I've played this year, even without the bugs - good, but not great imo - but that's immaterial here), and any other posts I've made are in response to people complaining about the complaining.

I think I've posted in two threads.

Now, if it's not me spamming up the forum with complaints, or any single person, then logically that can only mean there are a lot of complainers - which indicates, very clearly, that there's something fundamentally wrong with the game.

Ergo, your complaints about the complaining should more properly be directed towards BioWare for creating such a sub-standard product that it's ruining the forum experience for everyone because of all the negativity.

 :)

Blame Canada!

The gall. Asking us to take part in a popularity contest while keeping us in the dark about the fixes to their shoddy product... A bit of professionalism might be in order here.

You know what would be nice?  It's if your company would fix the bugs in 1.03 and Awakenings before coming here and drumming up votes for a popularity contest that no one really cares about.  If you can't fix the bugs, at least release an updated version of the DA toolkit so some of us can take a crack at them.

The RtO debacle, 1.03 snafus and the shoddy workmanship of DA:A isn't helping your brand reputation one bit.

This game is a chip in for GOTY, have you looked at the other games it's competing with and have you seen Assassins Creed 2 community compared to Bioware's, yea good luck with complaining, it's not going to stop Dragon Age to win the title it deserves, and besides Assassins Creed 2 is to repetitive, BOOM!

What does it mean to win Game of the Year against no-name games?  Would you really be excited about being able to find Waldo faster than a blind kid?  Hollow victory here.
