There's your difference!

They made Garrus into a badass! Garrus! That cut-n-paste cowbow cop!

YEAH! Garrus really kicked ass the way he had NO dialogue unless you wanted to screw his skeletal ass.

And Tali? What a badass floozy. Has all the character of a brick if you turn her down.

ME2 took two decent characters from ME1 and made them worse. Thats how bad ME2 is for character.

Must...resist...the...troll...

GAH! I'm sorry.  Way I see it, ME2 Garrus and Tali were almost indescribably better than ME1 and I think a lot of people would agree.  There, I said it.

Garrus had very little dialogue in the first ME!

And Tali was just there to educate you about the Quarians!

Sounds strangely familiar....

OH thats right! Thats the extent of their ME2 role as well.

Only this time, its wrapped up in an "interspecies sex" ultimatum.

This should be the BioWare forum motto :bandit:

I like some from both games. I agree that some in ME2 were less likable, and more over the top, but I also understand how some of the ME1 characters could be seen as boring.

My personal faves from across the two games are: Kaidan, Tali (from 1, don't think much of her in 2), Mordin, Legion (and I've only ever recruited him at the end and gone straight through the relay, so I haven't even spent that much time with him).

Least favourite: Jacob, Samara, hmm, I don't think there's anyone else I would put right at the bottom of the list.

Everyone else is floating around somewhere in between. I don't love 'em, I don't really dislike them. I can take them or leave them.

Did you enjoy headbutting in the romance or something?

Youre clearly quite taken with him....

After all, thats the only way to get any sort of substantial interaction from him in ME2: romance.

Also, I know I'm going to regret saying this but...why is it ALWAYS a person with a Liara avatar who comes in and says "Mass Effect 1 characters were far better."

Because all Liara fans are trolls.  Duh.

You do know you and kraidy are actually trolling hypocrites dont you?

Im actually sticking on topic and making postings different to your own only in opinion.

Accusing someone of being a troll when they are responding to the topic of the thread is trolling.

Totally agree, I think ME1 did characters far better. And also integrated them into the plot far better.

Of course it was bound to suffer in ME2: It wasnt about "teh shoota".

The truth hurts. I dont know how many times you need to hear it from their own mouths, ME2 is blatant a shooter pandering game.

Those "character driven" missions? With the exception of Samara and Thane, all are moderate to severely combat oriented.

Get over it. ME2 was about trying to reel in shooter fans, and for a lot people, the game suffered massively because of this.

Kraidy and I are trolls?  That's news to me!

My real issue is that I can prove, objectively, that Garrus and Tali are better developed characters than anyone else from Mass Effect 1.  I have no problem with Liara/Ashley/Kaiden/Wrex fans at all, I liked their characters a lot; but I find it extremely difficult to comprehend how anyone can seriously say that Liara is a better developed character/love interest than the two aforementioned characters.

But, that debate doesn't belong in this thread, therefore I think I'll leave it alone.

I can comprehensively disprove that Tali and Garrus are better developed characters than anyone from ME1.

But that debate doesnt belong in this thread, so its probably best that you leave it alone.

In all honesty, I'd like to see you try.

But, we both know that won't end well for anyone.

How and the flink am I a troll? Do you know what a troll is Dink?

"A troll a person who likes and it's there intention to get a rise out of people."

Every post you do Dink does that. You are a troll, do I realy need to go get those qoutes from the past Dink, do you realy want me to embrass you? I can and I will if you don't stop this ****. Unlike some of the members here I use the search feature and I will get those qoutes.

Onyx, don't even try to argue with this troll. He is just mad that Liara is not in the game and hates ME2 because she was not in it, I have qoutes that can prove it and i will go get them if I must.

I like all the squadmates . . . *hides b4 more infestations*

J/K . I think the ME2 squadmates were presented to be a little over the top, but that'smostly the crappy marketing, and this weird need for Bw to appeal the game to teenage boys who want all of the badass they can get, and be so cool! Oyes!

On the other hand, I think many of the ME2 squad was written very well, but only a few compare to the original squad. Thane, Miranda and Samara come to mind. As much as I'd love to put Garrus and a few others in here, they were butchered, and skimped, in favor of quantity.

Seriously.... what's the point?  The ME1 fans are the minority, we'll always be the minority.  I could go copy and paste my reasons from the dozens of other threads just like this that have come and gone, but it doesn't matter.  I just wish a pro-ME1 thread could exist for more than a page before getting the Darth and Kraidy show.

The only new "development" made in Tali and Garrus character it is revealed they have the hots for Shepard, unless you count Garrus talking smut rather than how he hates red tape.

Neither are in a situation that conflicts with what was established in ME1. Heck Garrus loyalty mission is basically the same as the Dr.Hart mission in ME1.

Like I said, with them its romance or nada.

This. Each side will just pick apart the other and nobody will change their minds. What's the point of arguing about it.
