WaBowser would be a great hero...just sayin

Wowser? :D

But i don't think the "wa" has a real meaning. When they created Wario, the only thing they did was take the "M" on mario and turn it upside down, to reflect the "opposite" personality of Wario. Now for Luigi, if you tun the "L" upside down you end up with a "gamma" character, and well, "Gammauigi" is not exactly an appealing name. Waluigi has a much better sound.  ^_^

Edit: Scyphozoa nijae'd me!

without any understanding of japanese, i think the above is the most likely case. they needed to make an opposite version of Mario (a villain) so they flipped the "M" into a "W" and Wario was born. In order to keep some level of consistency, they just applied the "W" to Luigi. But he couldn't be Wuigi (as cool as that might be), so they just crammed an "a" in there so it would be phonetically appealing.

just my guess

I used to think that too. It makes sense in Wario's case... but it doesn't explain why they used it with Waluigi. Maybe because an inverted L doesn't translate into anything?

I have that for the PSP, I love Felicia though. Have her sitting on my wall with Rex Raptor.

Wasn't Daisy Luigi's girlfriend or something? Peach's sister or were they friends?

She was the princess in Super Mario Land; the first Mario game for the original Gameboy. A kinda meh game but pretty fun at a time when playing Mario on the go was a novelty. I think she appeared in later spin-off games. I'm unsure. Either way it's odd Nintendo uses such an obscure character. I would prefer Pauline. At least more than two people know who she is. :P

Thanks for that Seagloom. :D

I don't know what's up with Nintendo and all their lost characters. It's sad when you forget they were even in a game.

I loved that MrHimuraChan. Before my time but I still watch repeats on Boomerang.

Robbie Rotten does look like him actually....

^^ That dude from Lazy Town doesn't have a stache though.

I see some similarities though.

If Sportacus wasn't the good guy, I'd say he looks like Waluigi because of the moustache.

He does remind me of Dastardly a bit. I used to watch Wacky Races reruns growing up. I didn't make the specific connection to Waluigi though. On a vaguely related note, that guy needs some sleep. Ring around the eyes... >.<
